Yep, the MSL is tied to a SIM but since we CDMArs don't use SIMs(except on gsm side) the extra step is probably a good idea. ![]()

So before sale the sim should be removed, how do you enter the msl code to wipe the phone number? |

I flashed back to 6.5 stock rom and removed sim. Now time to create the ebay sale page =) I love my EPIC wayyyy better than the TP2. Even from day one the TP2 was always a pita for me, sluggish pocket dialer..... I sometimes get frustrated with the Epic because sometimes I forget to hit the Send button the extra time when making a call b/c I am so use to the TP2 but it is so much better than accidentally calling someone on the TP2 when just trying to view contact info. BTW, flashing back to stock - will it reverse the fact that the phone is unlocked? Last edited by jmsnyc; 12-11-2010 at 04:46 PM. |

Re: Good time to leave TP2?
I'm kind of in the same boat (I think most of us are
![]() TP2 has been great. Once I settled on a ROM using Kitchen I have not touched it in 6 months !! All I need is GPS Nav (iGuidance or similar) Browsing And Exchange based Email/Contacts. Tether (Wifi hot spot is fine) I'm concerned about exchange. A coworker has a Droid and does have it working but it's not as good as Windows Mobile (he says). I think he is very knowledgable but it's fairly stock. Since EVO has been out for while. I thought why not wait until Sprint for next Gen EVO. But I'm on SERO 500. And I can supposedly upgrade to SERO 1250 (still a bargain). I'm worried that opportunity may change. But what would I really get over TP2. Not perfect but it works. I rarely use keyboard. With HTC's look and feel the EVO looked so much like a TP2. Most reviews give EVO the edge over the Epic.

So $50/month to use any phone you want and 500 landline minutes, unlimited cell minutes. Most of those probably compared the Evo on 2.2 Android to the newly released Epic on 2.1 Android(with some reports of GPS issues.) The Epic beats the Evo in Specs alone (superior GPU/CPU/Screen), not to mention it now has 2.2(though not official,) with a flawless GPS. Last edited by gullzway; 12-11-2010 at 05:55 PM. |

Looking at the phones from a pure hardware view, the Epic obviously wins with amoled, hummingbird cpu and hard keyboard (among higher storage capacity and gpu) vs. Evo with the snapdragon cpu, hdmi out and a huge 4.3" display, that certainly is a matter of choice. What the issue as stated in a post before yours is the issue with the operating systems. The Evo is coming out of the box with 2.2 built in now. Through my research, I have still yet to find someone running Froyo on the Epic4g with no complaints. Quote:
This is causing some headaches for me. I was expecting the epic to be THE next upgrade. Now with the Nexus s coming out, which is basically the Epic, with 2.3 support assured, the Epic is going to be 2 osupdates behind the Nexus S and 1 behind the Evo.. Grr.. And no it's not about who has the latest operating system. I believe this is a testament to the attention and detail Samsung will be putting into the future of this device. With that being said, I am fully aware that Froyo and even in the near future Gingerbread will be fully operational on the Epic, my question is just a matter of when. I have also been talking alot with Android devs the past few days and they are warning me about several new implications and indications that there will be issues with Google trying to nazi the freeware dev apps very soon. So, I might push back my upgrade for a small while, although no better sprint devices will be presenting themselves in 2011.... I find the htc 7 kind of a slap in the face, and I am not interested in the Knight. What I was thinking about doing was 'upgrading' to the dell inspiron 11z or maybe even the galaxy tablet. I will keep my TP2 for service and I can tether wherever I may roam. Not to mention, where ISNT there wifi anymore..? What do you guys think about using the upgrade to score a laptop/tablet? |
