But my friend likes the samsung super amoled which I think looks good but think some of the colors on epic are discolored. But both epic and evo both beat iphone. At least for as long as iphone stays on att. But hey, its just an opinion.

It's a little bit beyond preference in some aspects.
Looking at the phones from a pure hardware view, the Epic obviously wins with amoled, hummingbird cpu and hard keyboard (among higher storage capacity and gpu) vs. Evo with the snapdragon cpu, hdmi out and a huge 4.3" display, that certainly is a matter of choice.
What the issue as stated in a post before yours is the issue with the operating systems. The Evo is coming out of the box with 2.2 built in now. Through my research, I have still yet to find someone running Froyo on the Epic4g with no complaints.

Please prove!
This is causing some headaches for me. I was expecting the epic to be THE next upgrade. Now with the Nexus s coming out, which is basically the Epic, with 2.3 support assured, the Epic is going to be 2 osupdates behind the Nexus S and 1 behind the Evo.. Grr..
And no it's not about who has the latest operating system. I believe this is a testament to the attention and detail Samsung will be putting into the future of this device. With that being said, I am fully aware that Froyo and even in the near future Gingerbread will be fully operational on the Epic, my question is just a matter of when.
I have also been talking alot with Android devs the past few days and they are warning me about several new implications and indications that there will be issues with Google trying to nazi the freeware dev apps very soon.
So, I might push back my upgrade for a small while, although no better sprint devices will be presenting themselves in 2011.... I find the htc 7 kind of a slap in the face, and I am not interested in the Knight. What I was thinking about doing was 'upgrading' to the dell inspiron 11z or maybe even the galaxy tablet. I will keep my TP2 for service and I can tether wherever I may roam. Not to mention, where ISNT there wifi anymore..?
What do you guys think about using the upgrade to score a laptop/tablet?
