Re: Sprint cooked my phone! :(
You can do everything with your phone if you're by a PC. You can use mymobiler to control it via your PC when it's connected to activesync.

Wow! That sucks! It sounds like the digitizer was on it's last leg anyway. You're better off getting it replaced anyway. You could use MyMobiler or EveryWAN to get to any data on your device. To close apps you could set the long press end key to do it in settings if you can get to it. Good Luck to you!

Re: Sprint cooked my phone! :(
Happened to me also, took a tp1 that wouldn't launch the internet but otherwise fine and when I came to pick it up it wouldn't even power on anymore. Didn't matter because I had a backup phone but if i didn't I wouldve been angry

Re: Sprint cooked my phone! :(
Okay I navigated to the settings with the keyboard and arrow keys but the only options for the long end press was airplane mode, ringer vibrate, lock phone and one other useless thing. So I cant set long end press for end task. WTH, I am going to scream, I have about 10 texts I can't even access. There are some things you HAVE to use the touchscreen for.
Any other suggestions to get to end task or texts? |

Re: Sprint cooked my phone! :(
OP why didn't they give you or you ask for a loaner phone. Several times that I have had to get a phone repaired, I walk in give them the bad phone. They give me a loaner phone to use until my phone is either fixed or they ordered a new one.

Re: Sprint cooked my phone! :(
Using the back button or end call only takes me back to the main screen. I used to always have to go into task manager and x out to actually close the program running.
And I called the 800 number first to get this fixed, but the 2 times I called both reps told me it was a hardware problem and sent me to the store. TRUST ME I havent been in a sprint store in at least 2 years, I have danced this dance before... ARGH. As for a loaner, I asked and they told me no, since they ordered me a phone already, it was almost 8pm too and manager wasnt there. I have a call into the store manager this morning cause I need a phone like NOW. Store doesnt open til 10am. I have a backup of everything on the phone, but with no loaner to load it in, its useless at this point. |

Re: Sprint cooked my phone! :(
sounds like the people you dealt with didn't know what the hell they were doing. like horndoctor said...your digitizer would've given you a problem anyways within the next few days, so a replacement was really in your near future.
as far as the loaner phone, if you decide to go back to the store today, tell them that you really need a loaner phone because you use your phone for work...and that you can't get to your text/email messages. stress to them how it's just not possible that you have pending messages from work that you can't read/reply to because they won't give you a loaner 'til the replacement comes in.

They really should have given you a loaner phone. Sounds to me like they just didn't want to fool with it. |
