Good comment. I agree with you. No reason to get side tracked. I was about to respond to the android not being better than winmo but that's not what this thread is about. Too bad. I really wanted to continue the convo. If anyone starts a thread with that topic let me know.
Anyway, back to the topic at hand....

Re: asurion replacing TP2 with Imagio

FYI, I called Verizon last week to get a replacement TP2 before my 1-year warranty was up, and CS insisted that they didn't have any replacement TP2s. The only phone listed as "comparable" is the Imagio, which is a joke. However, Tech Support was able to sent me a refurb TP2, which looks like new to me. No battery, back cover, etc. though.

This is a regular warranty replacement I'm talking about -- I don't have the service plan.

With sound working in Android on the TP2, I'll be keeping this phone for a long time!

I bought my touch pro 2 off of ebay, what do I need from the seller for warranty replacement/future-claims?

Just make sure you've got TEP insurance which can be added when you activate the phone through Sprint.

Re: asurion replacing TP2 with Imagio

back on topic. I have Sprint and need to get my TP2 exchanged due to screen damage (it's still usable). I'm waiting for a week after the Epic comes out to make my claim with Assurion. I'll keep you guys posted if they let me end up upgrading. I'd even be willing to throw down money but I don't think they have a 'process' for that.

Re: asurion replacing TP2 with Imagio

I went in to a VZW store yesterday and complained about my phone. It's been getting significantly slower over the past month than it ever had before. The duplicated it and agreed to replace it. Supposedly, I'm getting a replacement TP2 Monday, so Verizon still has them in stock to ship out, just not Asurion.

Re: asurion replacing TP2 with Imagio

BTW between the daughter and I we dropped my TP2 in my Coke last night at dinner, and it was done for, called Asurion @ 930pm, today at 10am I had a new in the box TP2 delivered to my door.

Now I gotta figure out again what all I had tweaked, it was running so darn nice, haven't tweaked it for months....

Re: asurion replacing TP2 with Imagio

I got my third TP2 about 3 weeks ago from Verizon due to the second one overheating with nothing running and on battery power only. The third one they sent sent me seems like a new unit (the keyboard keys don't stick, the phone stays shut and there is no play between the top and bottom pieces).

Re: asurion replacing TP2 with Imagio

I don't suppose Verizon would replace the TP2 with a Droid X, would they?
