Re: FM Radio FOR CDMA TP2 - NEED HELP FROM GSM ROM CHEFS

1. It's software 2. that they can enable it with permission of the carrier. If it was a "moron" tech guy at HTC, as others claim, why would all their stories match up ? Even a chat with a tech at verizon tells me that "it can be enabled" but, there is nothing he could do about it (I tried to offer paypal of $50 but, he refused). IF it "could" then it had to be software, as I said before, No one would say that if they had to put a board in or sodder a chip. Everything leads to....Disabled in software because of the choice of the carriers. What out of all this would tell you any different ? The big questions in all of this, through all the 30+ pages of the main thread and this one. 1. Where is it disabled ? 2. Is it actually disabled in Windows Mobile (as HTC said, Getting FM TP2 software for Android might answer this one) ? 3. As others have said and I kind of think this is the real issue, it's disabled in the bootloader (on boot up of the phone the FM tuner is not "turned on"), what is anyone elses thoughts here ? This is talking about the initialization calls to the Qualcomm BCM4325 chip(blue-tooth, Wi-FI, FM chip) are not made in the CMDA TP2. As said here http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/1650673-post249.html If this is correct, How is it turned on in the Qualcomm BCM4325 on the Tilt2/GSM version, if we can figure this out, we could figure out how to enable it on CDMA versions....

B. The FM radio does not use data. Streaming radio does. You could not listen to/watch streaming data or surf the web and talk on the phone simultaneously on any network other than AT$T. C. Please pay attention. ![]()

Maybe everyone should give into the pot (from the bounty post) and call up HTC and offer a bribe of the max... ![]() Get this done once and for all... I guess unless we get a Broadcom expert or one of the guys who can unlock this phone there isn't much we can do here... Just wishing I could be listing to baseball and football games on my phone...never mind my favortie local radio station and not have to bring a radio around with me.... F'n Verizon... Re: FM Radio FOR CDMA TP2 - NEED HELP FROM GSM ROM CHEFS
So, is anyone here a Qualcomm BCM4325 expert so someone could figure out how to enable the FM radio on a CDMA phone?
Or anyone know how to disasemble the code on the GSM version to see how it is turned on on that phone, because it's said the hardware (for at least that part)is the same on these phones so it should work ? Just trying to see if there can be any real progress on the FM radio side of this...or should we all (I know I am not the only one who wants this to happen), just give up... Baseball season is not over yet, I would love to be able to listen to the rest of the games on my phone...Come on, let's get this working !!!! |
