Re: FM Radio FOR CDMA TP2 - NEED HELP FROM GSM ROM CHEFS
Does anyone know where it's turned on, on a GSM model ? Maybe it's in the same area on a CDMA version...

The hardware is there, it's been said by HTC on a few of the posts on XDA that the CDMA verson was disabled by the choice of the carriers. It uses the same Blutooth chipset as the GSM version and it has the FM radio built in the chip. It's also been said by a few people that it's been disabled in the bootloader but, no one knows how to find where to turn it on. If you install the software, it will yell at you that you need to connect headphones, why would it even start up never mind access hardware ? I guess I have been reading and wishing a little too much on this subject... I still have hope on this....if anyone can help, please take a second and see what you can give... I really want it for a few reasons 1. I have a CDMA TP2 and I want it to work 2. sports games that are not played streaming over the internet, only over FM. For every lock, there's a key. |

For one thing, that's malarkey on the face of it. Some keys become lost and cannot be recreated. Some locks have been filled with glue. Some locks are designed not to be unlocked and must be destroyed to open them. For another, not everything that bars progress is a lock, so this may not matter even if true. "Lock" implies that something can be opened under the right circumstances. What people are disagreeing about is whether there's a lock, or even a door, or if we're dealing with a slab of poured concrete a mile thick. People, not every problem has a solution. In fact, lots of problems are not solvable. This is a critically-important truth to grasp in order to have a happy adult life. Giving up too easily is a problem, certainly, but continuing to bash your head against a wall because something "has to" be true or possible is a recipe for misery. |
