Your brother is probably using the the RUU upgrade method, which does require a PC.

I just download one large zip file to the root of my SD card, and flash it from the bootloader. No PC required. I've done it multiple times on multiple phones. All done from my phone.

Re: SO glad I went with WM

Thanks for the heads up about Android flashing from SD, I will for sure let him know.

As for my ****** up living situation, Where I worked at buisness slowed down (horribly) and I lost my job, so I was forced to move in with my dad (which is far from being a dream).

I am hoping to move out by the end of next month.

Sadly this is not the first thing that has just "magically" broke (or just vanished) of mine, but thats just the way life goes sometimes

(always gotta be kicked when your down).

In fact, most of the custom roms for the evo have a rom updater program installed, so all you do is check for new updates, if there is one, you can install it with the click of one button, all without a PC. I'm running DamageControl 3.2.3, and love it.

My other huge plus is that there is a marketplace of value on the Android systems. And, if I want to find something that's not in the marketplace, I can search for it on the web, just like my TP2. But I can click the link for the DL much easier on the evo, w/o pulling out my stylus.

I loved the TP2, and still do, but I love the Evo more. It's like saying I love money, but I love more money more.
a little bit of Android-euphoria in this post. i have never had to pull out my stylus to do something and this was on both the stock Sprint 6.5 ROM and mightyROM FF both with and without sense.

Re: SO glad I went with WM

I also have never HAD to use the styli for anything. I do use it (I got it, so why not?), but have never had to because hitting links is too hard.

Also, don't have to remove the battery cover to enter Bootloader. Just hold in power, shut down Rhodium, then turn back on with Volume down held in (or get the 12 piece end button app, the 3rd option is to enter bootloader).

Either way, I am still glad I have my Windows Mobile (v6.5.5) and Rhodium. Best combo I have ever had (other then them pizza flavoured ones, man, those are GOOD)..

Switch to Verizon and Mr X' fixed MR2 ROM . Also keep your mailbox and message box empty. It's worked for me.

Why should I have to keep my mailbox and message box empty?

well not *empty*, but when it gets over even a few records, things start to go wonky and you'll see SOD.

My phone was running great and suddenly I started getting SOD . Started poking around, and found out that Yahoo had decided to download 2800 mail headers, even when the phone said only dl 3 days worth. Fixed that and phone is great again. *shrug*
