Stop the hassle and just buy a local simcard at the city you're at, the Sprint TP2 is factory unlocked for international GSM carriers, you get local data and calling rates, beats any international plan they might have.

I've heard similar stories about Verizon, too. The rep will deny , deny, deny, but if you look around on their website there it is: International Data Plan. The amount is different than Sprint, $65/mo vs. $40/mo, but the idea is the same. If you don't use the whole month they pro-rate the cost for the amount of time you do use. Don't give up!

this would be great, but i need to have my regular number so people back in the states can contact me without dialing an international number.

Google Voice has very cheap rates if you can't get your skype on.

yeah...would not even bother doing sprint international roaming as an option. the per minute charge is expensive. your best bet is to just do skype or google voice.

Same of the above. They charged $40 per month (it can be prorated close to $2 per day for data plan). In addition what helps is to have google voice so you don't have to check your voice mail with skype but can read it or hear it over your email message. I set it up like this and it helps rather than checking all missed calls. Please thanks if you like the response |
