Re: Touchscreen capability is gone
I will reiterate what others have said. After getting sweat underneath my screen it became unresponsive after a couple weeks with a black dot and the rainbow effect. Went to a Sprint store (An actual Sprint corporate store, not a third party shop like PCS Express or Best Buy) and got my replacement phone in the mail the next day. They overnighted the shipping for free as I told the Tech that I was going on an out of state trip to visit family around Nashville and that I needed my phone.
The replacement phone came with a prepaid envelope to put my broken phone into. (Although I did pay for the usps delivery confirmation, just in case the phone went missing) You have 14 days to get the broken phone back into their hands, not 14 days to mail it. It would be best to mail it ASAP and do not procrastinate or they will charge your account the full price of the replacement phone if they do not receive your old one in 14 days. |

Re: Touchscreen capability is gone
I had the touchscreen go dead on my Touch Pro 2 and took it into one of the corporate stores with a repair facility inside of it. They had the parts there and did the repair/swapped out the screen in about one and a half hours. I was under TEP, but don't underestimate what the stores can pull off these days.

yup...and that $500 charge is non-refundable. the most expensive late fee a person will ever get charged if you ask me.

Re: Touchscreen capability is gone
The more people jive in on this topic the more hopeful I get as I am discovering more options on getting a fix for this phone.
Mojary I bought this phone within two-four weeks when the phone came available. It seems like I have this phone for a long time now. I did not know anything about TEP (Total Equipment Protection) plan, so I do not have that. So does this bring my hopes down? I'd like to get a replacement like a couple of people have mentioned here before. So I would go to a Sprint repair store or call them up, tell them about the black dot and screen being unresponsive, they decide to send a replacement, I get the replacement in the mail, I ship the old phone back and everything is okay? And that is without having TEP... Is it and will it be simple as that? Although I don't have TEP, I am on their Sprint Premiere program. Buying parts online and repairing the phone myself is my last option as I have no experience in repairing phones. |

Re: Touchscreen capability is gone
That's *exactly* how mine looked, except the 'tear' was on the right side, and it was Verizon. I called 'em up swapped phones in the mail.... TaDa! I'm enjoying a brand new phone. In fact, the first replacement was SODing all over the place, I didn't know about how to fix it, so Verizon did a free swap again. So, there you go.

Re: Touchscreen capability is gone
the csr rep i spoke with didnt even bring up TEP so im guessing it wouldnt be an issue you not having one. all he said was that i was still under warranty and ill be sending me a new replacement phone. just give them a call and tell them about your issue.

Re: Touchscreen capability is gone
I got my replacement with no problems. I have a brand new TP2 with WM 6.5! It looks better than 6.1. It feels like I have to be careful with this phone all over again. Thanks for all of those who helped me through this.
