Much appreciated if you can check yr phone if you get a chance. Thnx

I found this additional post here. Someone thought TP2 AGps is disabled but appears to me it;s enabled by default, at least on sprint.... Unfortunately this thread went nowhere after a total of 2 posts....

I guess you can always go into settings, connections, manage existing connections and screw around with those settings (like deleting #777 so it can't dial into sprint data service), but that's kinda annoying way of doing it. And doing so won't prevent the gps from trying to access data which would bring up a box saying "can't establish data connection" every time.

I obviously completely never use a gsm phone before but, just wondering: when you sign up for a gsm service oversea and get a sim card, do you have to somehow set up the data connection manually (as in going into settings, connections, manage existing connections) or the data connection automatically set up?

Last not least, someone gotta ask the hard-to-answer and not-often-asked questions.... O/w this forum won't be as interesting....

I tried the gpsOne settings and I can't get the drivers to install (windows7) it won't take those files listed. So there is no HTC Diagnostic Interface device in my ports for step 7. Totally stuck. Any ideas? I'm down to hard reset, but rather not do that. Thanks everybody!
i have gone thr most of the how to config gps thread. qpst is definitely a powerful prog which can make (or break) yr gps. plus it requires a computer. which is why i am hoping there is an easier solution

Smile Re: Setting TP2 GPS for assisted or non-assisted mode?

A-GPS was disabled on Sprint Stock 6.1. I see no reason why 6.5 would be any different. It is a feature that is only beneficial if you have weak signal caused by city buildings.

Re: Setting TP2 GPS for assisted or non-assisted mode?

If you scroll across the bottom bar (I am on 6.5) go to that settings (ie not the one in the start menu, then other, and then I have a menu choice that literally says aGPS settings... when I click on that, it pulls up a box that can be checked or unchecked to enable/disable aGPS... in the states I generally leave it on... traveling abroad, I'd turn it off...

So I assume you mean setting menu in sense? I re enable sense and went to setting in sense, then select other. Unfortunately I did not see a menu choice saying aGPS setting. Dont know if that's because I am using Mighty ROM 6.5 and he had that removed or not. I assume you on stock rom?

I did a search for anything with "gps" and I found agpssettings.exe in \windows\. clicked on that and something named "location service settings" comes up that says "improve location service by collecting location data at any time when devicce is in use" and it's off by default. I assume this is not what I am looking for regarding disabling or enabling assistance to GPS that I am looking for?

If anyone has mighty ROM, much appreciate if you can also confirm that this seems missing from the sense setting menu?

Also appreciate anyone with the stock sprint ROM can confirm if this aGPS setting is under the sense setting menu in others submenu...

Thanks
