Re: GPS on TP2 compared to TP

To get GPS to work using Google Maps I have to start it and restart it once Ive picked a route. This is on my TP2

I never had any lag whatsoever on my TP1

Re: GPS on TP2 compared to TP

Way better on the TP2. Locks in on the location almost instantly. On the TP1 I had some long waits.
Don't know what's wrong with some of these other TP2s, but the GPS is completely fixed. The bigger screen and keyboard are nice as well.

Re: GPS on TP2 compared to TP

My TP2 seems to do just fine with a normal install of iGuidance 2009. No GPS priming like I had to do with the old Mogul. If there's lag when I'm on the road, I really can't tell. It hasn't ever affected me getting where I need to go.

Re: GPS on TP2 compared to TP

I run Garmin XT and it works like a charm with traffic and what not. Lock time is instant, as soon as I launch and go through the accept terms thing, it's all set to go. I have not really noticed any lag between where I am and where it says I am. Sometimes it thinks I get there before I do, but I imagine it is due to GPS locks.

I agree, GarminXT is the best.

Too bad it's been discontinued.

Good to hear, I have downloaded it but have yet to try it out. Big kudos to MS for putting out a free turn-by-turn app! Now to see if Google will do the same for our devices...I think they already have a version of Google Maps with turn-by-turn for Android.

Re: GPS on TP2 compared to TP

I have no gps lag. Maybe because I turn off the agps. If I keep the agps on I get a 1 to 2 lag. Try turning off the agps and see if that works on your touch pro. There are better phone than the touch pro 2 on the horizon so you might just want to wait.

AGPS was turned off on my touch pro1 and it was still crap

Yes, better phones are here, TP2 is outdated, but right now it is the best sprint WM phone you can use.w/ SERO.
