Ummm....I found a typo in your thread title. I believe you meant it to read as follows:

"Why do I suck so badly at using the search feature????"

I've found that the best way to find something specific is to start a new thread at the top of the forum and have it spit out some suggestions. Once you put something in the Title box it will spit out threads with your keywords under "Here are the similar threads we found:" I have found what I was looking for about 98% of the time that way.

yea, that's the problem right there.

The fact that you can post here for over a year & still get frustrated by it simply shows how dysfunctional it really is......

I mean really, you click search, a blank box comes up, you type in Opera Mini & hit enter. If you don't get a meaningful result at that point, then something is broken period. I must have gotten a list of 200 links & not one of them said "opera" in the heading.


Then, to make matters worse there is always some a DB hanging around waiting to make a useful comment "Why do I suck so badly at using the search feature????"

New users catch that kinda cr@p & never post here again (& you can hardly blame them)~John

Think of it as a minimum qualification for owning a smartphone lol

personally I never even use the search at all I just Google...while we all like ppcgeeks, there are plenty of other resources on the net and searching Google directly is usually more efficient.

Just make a suggestion in the suggestion forum to use the Google Site Search as the default search and under Advanced it will allow you to do the old search

I hate the search here. I always need to go to google and type in want I am seraching for and click the links to here. I searched Manila 2.5 Slider...
In te Touch Pro2 forums only and I get 16 pages of everthing but what I want. I do prefer the search at XDA, but I like the community here more.

Click the search dropdown, google is right below the built in site search.

I think he is trying to say most new users will just use the standard search(since its first)..find nothing and then just post a new thread
