Me. I use the keyboard config and smartlock, though. I've seen this on lots of 6.5 phones. Sometimes the power on takes so long that you think you mis-pressed it, so you press it again, which then suspends again, and then you wait and hit it again and it turns on. Very frustrating.

In general, I have to hit power twice about a third of the time to get my stock 6.5 TP2 to wake up.

I installed the Stock Sprint Rom a day after it was released. I have experienced this bug one time since then (just recently unfortunately). However, I cant recall experiencing this ever with the prior ROM.

It went to sleep mode (dark screen) and would not come on when I pressed power. I was sitting at a restaurant and had just checked it. It didn't respond to a long press to reset either. I ended up just taking the battery out real quick.

Currently running Stock ROM and Touch Pro 2 Cleanup Cab. For testing purposes, the only other cabs i have installed are latest Task Manager and a popular custom taskbar icon cab. No other SenseUI modifications, no Cookie Home Tab...

well, after a day of running without the cabs, the "failure to wake" STILL happens! so those must not be a factor afterall... so after yet another hard reset, i went back and installed the cabs, and guess will just deal with it til hopefully there is a fix. still considering going back to 6.1 but will give 6.5 a little longer

Re: power button issues on 6.5?

I too have been having this same issue with my Stock Sprint 6.5 ROM.
I currently have Co0kie's home tab installed but even before I added it I had this problem. It hasn't occured in while, which is actually quite strange. I had another issue that I saw someone address in another thread about extreme lag and system crashes when exiting the default Windows Mobile text threads and going back to the messaging home screen. Again, I also had this problem. What I ended up doing is deleteing all (2000+) of my saved text messages and both problems seemed to dissapear overnight.
When I first upgraded from 6.1 to 6.5 I was furious but after tweaking it here and there it seems to work much better. Another suggestion I have is to disable animations on the home screen. Both animated wallpaper and weather. That seemed to speed everything up. Also HTC task manger, as much as I LOVE it, it killed my Touch Pro 2. I highly recommend uninstalling it if you have added it.
Last but no least, anyone having the problem with the HTC Sense MP3 player pausing during play back? Because if so I have a solution.

Can you explain this? Did you try the more recent build(s)? I have it installed and dont seem to have any issue but I haven't done extensive testing outside of normal/casual use. What exactly was the problem if gave you with the Stock 6.5 ROM?

First of all I'm running Stock Sprint 6.5 with the only major change being Co0kies home tab.
I installed HTC Task Manager (The drop down task manager) because I missed it from the 6.1 build. Upon installing it I noticed a significant decrease in WinMo performance. Slow response time for touch input and overall HTC Sense became very laggy. I was also having my device lock up, where I couldn't turn the screen on or off and the only ways I could get a response out of it was if I pulled out my stylus and put it back in, which would light up the front face buttons and not the screen. Or actually call my Touch Pro 2 from another phone. Calling my phone seemed to be the best option other than yanking out the battery or waiting a few minutes and trying again.

Read my post HERE, Then scroll down to the next post below it.
What I did from there was as I already explained and after doing so my free memory increased and lag decreased.

I'm not sure what build of HTC task manager I've used but I'm so past it now I don't even care for going back. Hot keying the task manager FTW.

Re: power button issues on 6.5?

I noticed this too since I installed stock VZW 6.5 rom. I'm not running any of the programs you guys mentioned. I did notice today that initializing voice command from the bt headset seems to wake it up without a soft reset. Hope this means something to someone...

I am running Sprint 6.5 with MS 3.5 and this happens atleast 2 a week. Soft reset is the only option for me.
