Re: power button issues on 6.5?
Since my previous post I have not had it happen either. I even tried to reproduce the "spinball pause" situation with no luck. Hmmm odd. I was able to get it to reproduce fairly consistently before and now nothing.

Re: power button issues on 6.5?
DITTO!! I am having the same problem. I'm up to having to press the power button NUMEROUS times to get the phone to wake up again. I've had to press it over 15 times sometimes, and there is no reason. I've also had trouble with the phone booting up Sense. It seems like it takes a long time after a reboot. I'm taking it into a store today to get some answers.

8:30 I just tried something and I'm having slight success. I disabled the automatic backlight and turn off display settings. I have successfully (over a period of ten minutes) turned off the screen, waited a few minutes, and turned it back on with one single press. I will test it today and see what happens. 9:30 just going on a whole hour of no "auto backlight" and no "auto off" settings, and things seem to be working well. Re: power button issues on 6.5?
Just to rule out possible other causes...
I had the exact same symptoms, and it turns out a board was loose in the base of the phone (the half that has the keyboard). No screen backlight, though I could hear rings, pick up the phone, etc. In my case if I pressed on the connectors where the power or headset jacks are, the screen would magically come on. Called Verizon and they overnighted me a new phone. If you get these issues again, you can see if this is the problem by pressing a headset or the power plug firmly into the base and see if the screen magically appears. |

Re: power button issues on 6.5?
Well... My symptoms continued after my last post... I thought I had figured it out... So... I started my systematic removal of cabs directly installed to the phone.
I first uninstalled task manager, invisible clock, no curtains, mms fix... etc etc etc... rebooting the phone twice after each uninstall... finally got to the point where everything was working great... so I re installed all the cool cabs first and was just fine. Worked great all last night slept when I hit the power button and woke right up when I hit it again. I did several soft resets and everything was great. Then I plugged my phone in to the wall charger and when I unplugged it this morning... The problem is back. Now to soft reset and remove cool cabs again. I may just install max manila anad not mess with the other cabs. p |

Re: power button issues on 6.5?
for me, this has happened running completely stock! i too tried to eliminate different cabs to see which might be causing it, but after MANY installs/reinstalls/hard resets- it still happens even stock. i never had this while on 6.1. only tarted after i upgraded! coincidence??. the latest SOD, when i finally got it to wake, i turned it off as usual to reboot, hit the button to turn back on and it wouldn't start. plugged in to wall charger, got orange LED, tried to turn on again and nothing. this time had to physically remove and replace the battery then it would start. this is frustrating as the phone is somewhat unreliable. and it's not like i can duplicate it on demand for sprint store to see.

Re: power button issues on 6.5?
I've had it since the new 6.5, but have never had to do anything besides hit the power button a bunch of times until it comes on
