Re: power button issues on 6.5?

this has bugged me ever since i upgraded to 6.5. It never happened on 6.1. so finally decided to experiment and do some hard resetting/re installing apps/tweeks to see if i could find what might trigger it. after many hard resets, it is finally running great and wakes up with every push of the button (so far). for my device, it appears that maybe either the cookie home page/page editor cabs or the ics wmodem fix cab may have been the cause. these are the only 3 i have decided not to reinstall after a long process of elimination and many resets/app installs....so far so good, wakes every time. i havent installed any of the games yet thoulg. will run it like this for a week and see what happens. just thought i'd pass along what i came up with so far.

Re: power button issues on 6.5?

+1 same here. usually it does that after i do a soft reset to my phone. but it has gotten better overtime and more responsive to the power button. although that issue is still there.

Thanks for the update. I have the cookie mod installed and love it. I hope that doesn't turn out to be the problem because if it is I will have to uninstall it because I just don't like having to do that many soft resets to use my phone.

I don't have any of the 3 cabs (cookie home page/page editor/ics wmodem fix cab) installed and still experience the issue.

I didn't mess w/ the phone that much but i've installed:
-G. Maps
-nobody's Clear type in landscape
-daveshaw xdashutdown
-htc wifi router
-dhr lockdevice
-shazam
-omj stop clock flip
-windows marketplace
-and just reinstalled keyboard controller/sdk certs since it was happening w/o those cabs

Me. I use the keyboard config and smartlock, though. I've seen this on lots of 6.5 phones. Sometimes the power on takes so long that you think you mis-pressed it, so you press it again, which then suspends again, and then you wait and hit it again and it turns on. Very frustrating.

In general, I have to hit power twice about a third of the time to get my stock 6.5 TP2 to wake up.

well, after a day of running without the cabs, the "failure to wake" STILL happens! so those must not be a factor afterall... so after yet another hard reset, i went back and installed the cabs, and guess will just deal with it til hopefully there is a fix. still considering going back to 6.1 but will give 6.5 a little longer

Re: power button issues on 6.5?

I too have been having this same issue with my Stock Sprint 6.5 ROM.
I currently have Co0kie's home tab installed but even before I added it I had this problem. It hasn't occured in while, which is actually quite strange. I had another issue that I saw someone address in another thread about extreme lag and system crashes when exiting the default Windows Mobile text threads and going back to the messaging home screen. Again, I also had this problem. What I ended up doing is deleteing all (2000+) of my saved text messages and both problems seemed to dissapear overnight.
When I first upgraded from 6.1 to 6.5 I was furious but after tweaking it here and there it seems to work much better. Another suggestion I have is to disable animations on the home screen. Both animated wallpaper and weather. That seemed to speed everything up. Also HTC task manger, as much as I LOVE it, it killed my Touch Pro 2. I highly recommend uninstalling it if you have added it.
Last but no least, anyone having the problem with the HTC Sense MP3 player pausing during play back? Because if so I have a solution.

Can you explain this? Did you try the more recent build(s)? I have it installed and dont seem to have any issue but I haven't done extensive testing outside of normal/casual use. What exactly was the problem if gave you with the Stock 6.5 ROM?
