Sprint TP2 6.5 OEM Freezes when Exiting SMS/MMS

here try this, I was thinking the lock up came from the SMS sent Pop up and after installing this cab that really disables the pop up! The lock up is gone !!! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=561443. Read the post works for sprint from what i read.

A couple of things I found out: Make sure the photos for your contacts are a reasonable size. A couple of mine were really large, and it slowed things down for me a lot. It only makes sense because when you receive a text it processes through the contact list to match the phone number up with someone in your contacts. If the images are too big it tends to lock things up.

Secondly, I found that Sense does a terrible job of processing Facebook information and it seems that almost every time you do something with your contacts it reaches out to update Facebook info. I turned this off in the data services area and it seems to be running a bit faster.

Shame on you HTC. Although there are some improvements with Sense, TouchFlo3D on 6.1 ran 100x more efficiently. Even with the huge contact images I had, TF3D never gave me a problem.

ok, I got to about 2.6K and the phone is un-usable.
This is a lot worse than the 6.1 version.

oh man! I messed something off and need to resynch 17K txts to output to gmail.
my phone has been synching with myphone for 2hrs now.

Instead of everyone jumping through hoops to try and resolve this issue on they're own (or rely on ROM Cooks and Tweaks), please... please... PLEASE!!! Call HTC directly to report this issue.

I called HTC Tech Support and didn't even get an automated system and spoke to a real person to report the issue. They can then escalate to either they're software dept. who can then escalate it to Microsoft to release a fix to Sprint. Also report this to Sprint if you have the time so that it could be escalated as well. The more people that do this the better. Call HTC TS @ 8778786944.

+1 i like this idea, i think there are alot of issues we should be reporting to HTC instead of going thru drastic measueres to fix these types of issues.

but not everyone has sprint as there provider, i have Touch Pro 2 From Verizon and i am having the same problem and i dont have a huge amount of txt's on my phone.

The issue is definitely with Sense. If you turn off Sense and use Windows default there are no problems at all. My issue happens because I have about 650 contacts and no texts. I have a tech calling me back from HTC because they had to escalate the problem = level one tech's had no clue.

Having Used the Sprint 6.5 ROM, then going to Mighty's Version, then Mr. X's latest version which were both built off of the Sprint 6.5 but less bloated, I can say that I do not have the text problem you guys are talking about but I did while on the Sprint ROM. Seems like the Custom ROMs are the way to go for this issue, since they give you the good out of the Sprint 6.5 while taking out the bad.

What i did was Got the XT Hack Beta 2.. It has so many features and mods to Speed up your phone. my phone is about 40 percent faster including Text messaging..
