Sprint TP2 6.5 OEM Freezes when Exiting SMS/MMS

Yeah I notice Active Sync running alot. I also was curious if txt message count had an impact. I have like 2,500 ish on my phone right now. I'll try deleting and seeing whats up.

On a side note any of you local guys know anyone wanting to buy a TP2? Got a spare I wanna get rid of and don't have 50 posts here yet.

yea i'm havin the same issue, i added my snt msg bubble bak, and sometims it will freeze for about 1min the it will unfreeze..acouple of times it will lock up the phone and i have to soft reset it...its crazy..please let there b a fix for this lol

Deleting txts and archiving old ones seems to be a workaround. Should be a non issue, but it is what it is. Im sure someone will cook up a fix eventually.

I had this same exact issue on 6.1. It's manila's messaging. It's loading all the 18K or 21K texts. When you sent/receive txts it will have to re-load the updated 18K-21K txts all over again.
What I do so that I have my txts available and searchable is that I use
Efficasoft Mobile Express to export the txt to a .txt file.
then I use a perl script I wrote to turn the .txt into a mbox format.
then I load it up into thunderbird portable.
then I copy them to a local imap server.
finally, I have gmail synch the files from my computer and tag them as SMS.
So I can search through them on-the-go.

after I do this, I can archive them in myPhone. One feature myphone needs is something like "archive all by last 5 txt from each conversation" that would rule.

Just wanted to chime in and say that I keep my text message inbox lean to avoid slowdowns as well.

I haven't tried deleting texts in 6.5 yet but I tried in 6.1 and while I was able to delete my threaded conversations in the windows folder they stayed loaded in manila. How do you delete them from manila (other than deleting them one by one individually)?

There has to be some serious bug in the new ROM with the WM text program.... I have this problem as well, and finally deleted all of my texts to I could start from scratch, and it is still dog slow and locks up the phone and or makes it impossible to wake up...

I am experiencing the same issues when I add a contact to the Manilla tab or add a program to quicklinks. The phone freezes and I cannot do anything.

The resets became so annoying that I swtiched to the Windows Default setting and have not had any locking issues. I would like to have the Sense UI interface back and functioning.

I deleted all texts and it's been smooth sailing. Although deleting them all caused a crash at one point and I had to pop the battery to reset. Once it reloaded I finished deleting. My issues didn't seem so bad as some other peoples though.
