Re: Sprint TP2 6.5 OEM Freezes when Exiting SMS/MMS

I haven't tried deleting texts in 6.5 yet but I tried in 6.1 and while I was able to delete my threaded conversations in the windows folder they stayed loaded in manila. How do you delete them from manila (other than deleting them one by one individually)?

Re: Sprint TP2 6.5 OEM Freezes when Exiting SMS/MMS

There has to be some serious bug in the new ROM with the WM text program.... I have this problem as well, and finally deleted all of my texts to I could start from scratch, and it is still dog slow and locks up the phone and or makes it impossible to wake up...

I am having to soft reset my phone multiple times per day now

Re: Sprint TP2 6.5 OEM Freezes when Exiting SMS/MMS

I am experiencing the same issues when I add a contact to the Manilla tab or add a program to quicklinks. The phone freezes and I cannot do anything.

The resets became so annoying that I swtiched to the Windows Default setting and have not had any locking issues. I would like to have the Sense UI interface back and functioning.

Re: Sprint TP2 6.5 OEM Freezes when Exiting SMS/MMS

I deleted all texts and it's been smooth sailing. Although deleting them all caused a crash at one point and I had to pop the battery to reset. Once it reloaded I finished deleting. My issues didn't seem so bad as some other peoples though.

Re: Sprint TP2 6.5 OEM Freezes when Exiting SMS/MMS

Is it really necessary to have that many text's saved? I'm not understanding this.. I clean my phone out after each conversation.. There is no need to keep them on your phone.. especially anything over 1000? wtf.. The most my phone has seen is like 300 at one time.

Re: Sprint TP2 6.5 OEM Freezes when Exiting SMS/MMS

I dunno man, I think many people just forget or don't bother to mess with them. Lots of people came from phones that only held "x" amount of texts and bumped the oldest out. So they likely never bothered checking, WinMo can be a whole new world to many. I've only been dabbling with ti a year and still a total noob.

Re: Sprint TP2 6.5 OEM Freezes when Exiting SMS/MMS

Like I mentioned earlier, I have 650+ contacts and I have virtually no text messages, and this is still happening to me. I'm wondering for those not having this problem after deleting text messages, how many contacts to you have? Thanks.

Re: Sprint TP2 6.5 OEM Freezes when Exiting SMS/MMS

I have around 100 contacts and less than 200 txts. I am having this problem to the point it is unusable. I've installed the goodthings2life cab. Its unreal how problematic it is. It takes like 20 seconds to switch from landscape to portrait. It crashes when closing sometimes 1-2 minutes. I know this is a 6.5 issue as im not a 2k txt msger, didnt have this issue with 6.1, yet im still having this issue.

(Sigh) I'm really frustrated b.c. im txting a new girl and this sms f-up is messing with the game...

What I do so that I have my txts available and searchable is that I use
Efficasoft Mobile Express to export the txt to a .txt file.
then I use a perl script I wrote to turn the .txt into a mbox format.
then I load it up into thunderbird portable.
then I copy them to a local imap server.
finally, I have gmail synch the files from my computer and tag them as SMS.
So I can search through them on-the-go. after I do this, I can archive them in myPhone. One feature myphone needs is something like "archive all by last 5 txt from each conversation" that would rule.
