Manila 2.5.2012 (Stock Sprint 6.5 ROM) - Touch Pro 2 Tweaks Discussion

Now that the Official Sprint 6.5 ROM has been released, lets star't tweaking it! The Sprint ROM is running Manila 2.5.2012 so anything you find that works on 2.5.2012 should work on the Sprint ROM and vice versa.

I will start with the following sections, please let me know if you would like to see any others!
  • Reg Edits
  • Sense Tweaks
  • Must Have Apps
In an effort to make sure that you all have the most up to date applications, and that the creaters of the information are getting the credit they so greatly deserve, I will only be moving links to the OP if the link points to the source thread/url going forward.

Please post only links that you have confirmed to work, and let's make a one stop shop for all 2.5.2012 Manila users!

I will update the Thread with the links that you post as often as possible. Please be patient and read the thread before posting

Don't forget to rate the thread, be civil, share your knowledge, and thank all the ppcgeekers that contributed to the list!

Re: Sprint 6.5 ROM Touch Pro 2 Tweaks Discussion

Getting Started:
  1. Flash the new ROM (Sprint Touch Pro2 MR | 03.19.2010) - Get it here
  2. Hard reset. You should reboot with about 60-70MB free RAM.
  3. Soft reset your phone and you should boot with 90+MB of free RAM!
GoodThings2Life's touch Pro 2 Cleanup thread
**Make sure you install the Sprint Version**
  • Only install the cleanup version if you have not made any changes/installed anything on your phone.
  • Take your chances installing the Tweaks version if you made changes/installed anything already. (sense would not launch, and it screwed up my start menu so I had to open settings thru Total Commander to uninstall)

I can't find the htcsettings.lnk you mention, I can only find the registry. Obviously just changing the registry won't work so where do I find that link? It's not in the start menu, at least I don't see it...

That's what I thought, but I didn't want to assume so I thought I'd ask. Does it matter if I delete it or move it? And where do I move it if so?

I'm wondering where to move it as well, but to search just go into plugins, then registry. Once there click file, find files and enter what your searching for.

Basically your narrowing your search by going to the registry and only searching there (and as long as you spelled it correctly you'll find it).

Just so you know, I just moved that link to my storage card (just in case I need it later I guess) and changed that registry setting and soft reset. After the reboot I can now go straight to the settings menus without going through the tab route.

Thanks for the help everyone!

Sorry - I am a little confuse about this direction - is it a hard reset I want to do or a soft reset or both?

Cause a hard reset would send everything back to OEM stock 6.5.
Am i doing a soft in addition to a hard after flashing?

Thanks

I must be "slow", because 90mb sounds better than 70mb.

Bottom Line:
What should we do after installing Sprint's 6.5 ROM?
A hard or soft reset?
What is the method?

Thank you.

List of my issues:

#1. I want to only use MS Messagaing for texts. I HATE HTC messaging.

#2. I want a task manager. (JD task manager seems to add a "slide to unlock" to my TP2?)
#3. I do NOT want to slide to unlock or have to hit "unlock" AFTER I already entered my 4 digit pin to unlock.
#4. A home screen link to the "FULL call history" (not abbreviated) would be nice.

All I really want is my TP2 to run as FAST as possible and be able to use "HTC favorites" to create text messages in the old "MS mesaging" format. ( so I can insert "My Texts" and "add recipients" by just tying their names.
