you can actually just flash the radio....search for verizon radio 2.23

Maybe since my phone is so new, they already used the latest radio file? even though it was WM6.1?
Does anyone know how to check which version of the radio firmware I have in my phone?

Verizon:

VZW_1.87WV

VZW_1.88.07WV

I have VZW 1.88.07WV, so I guess the phone came with the latest radio firmware.

all verizon tp2's come with that radio. the new one that comes in their new 6.5 official rom is 2.23.00WV. It's in the link that was given to you in a post above

Oops...didn't scroll down far enough in that window...my bad.
What is the consensus on upgrading the radio to this version? Everything is working so well, is there really any advantage to making this change?

I can only tell you what I've read (don't know first hand as I didn't really compare the two). They say the 2.23 radio just provides better reception and tower lock. Hopefully, someone who has tried both can chime in. But, some folks were saying they got better signals in areas that normally gave them bad signals. I have never flashed a radio only....is there a hard reset involved, so you lose all settings, or just flash and go (soft reset)?

I tried every radio (VZW, Telus, Sprint, Etc.) and my signal never changed. I'm on VZW in Houston and currently have 1.88.07. You just have to try for yourself and see. No hard reset necessary.
