Swype 3.9. I need some help from the pros.

I did a quick test before going all the way with Swype installation: using TotalCommander I overwrote the ModelName.txt, and SR a couple times.

I then rerun the autoNetwork config, and got back my SMS and MMS configuration.
Used the FixEmailAccounts to recover emails, re-typed server names and passwords.

Now all the above seems to be working fine. Do you have any other suggestions about things to check?

BTW, I have a stock Italian unbranded ROM.

my phone already has a ModelName file with a text "HTC Pro2 T7373" but the ModelName file posted here has "T_MOBILE LEO" should i sitll over write? with the one posted here and its gna work?

(EDIT: i did replace and it still keep saying its for the wrong device... any help on that?)

I tried out EnergyROM with swype built in and it had the same problem saying that it wasn't the correct device and noticed a couple other users report the same issue in the thread, though it didn't appear that most cared as no one answered those couple users and no one else posted about it. I'm stumped as to how to get it to work as i can't find where it checks the model name. I'm just going to replace my ModelName.txt file with the one that allows me to use it and I'm going to just install it after a new flash/hard reset everytime.

I have this exact same problem and though I like the new layout better I am reluctantly going back to v2.0 because of this issue. Anyone know of a fix?

Works fine for me on Verizon TP2 with MightyRom WAR(not the new release). It definitley run's smoother than V2.0 and is noticably faster. I do like the keyboard layout better, provides a better page view with shorter key's.

any fix on the issue we r having on the NRGz ROM?... i really like the layout and would love to use the SWYPE on my tp2... anyone got it working? (EDIT: its working now!!!)

Also, how do i make the SWYPE layout the default keyboard on an application?

I don't have the cab anymore but this is the site NueSIPdefault that i got a program to set my swype as the default keyboard when the system starts up ( i have it set for 10 after UI boot) and for all programs. Works like a charm.

I have tried the 3.9 on my HD2 and IT IS real disater for the mentioned problem. Where can I find the 2.0 CAB for my HD2?

Wish I read through this thread before. I just spent the past 2 hours trying to isolate the cab that's killing my data connection only to find out it was Swype which led me here hah.
