Re: Swype 3.9. I need some help from the pros.

Man, wish I stayed for the party..got in on this the other day when this was 1 page long, finally got around to installing it last night. It was so freaking cool to try it. Really hard to do w/ your finger b/c you can't see all the keys (I guess until you kinda memorize it..) but with the stylus it was awesome. Realized my data was killed, could not figure out how to get it back..restored the phone to stock, worked fine.

I'm not going to do any of these tricks to get it to work, seems to risky, contemplating trying 2.0. I'm running a stock TMo TP2 6.5 upgrade. I went to Swypes site, but couldn't find any info about purchasing for any type of device. I don't even know how you get it for supported phones, but I would gladly pay $10-$15 for it if you guys are still listening!! it is very cool keyboard that I'm sure makes others envious!!

I was thinking, can't we just change that text file to show it as touch pro 2? or did some people say that will wreak havoc w/ other applications and phone settings??

@indagroove is you EXT overwriting the modelid.txt file or do you have another method? While it works when cooked in you will loose carrier apps because the device reports as a Tmobile device. Sprint TV is an example.

Re: Swype 3.9. I need some help from the pros.

Ok, so I really wanna' try Swype out. I am WAY behind the curve though. I just found out about it. I started reading some of this thread, and I get that there are problems, but what is the final story?

Is the fixed cab actually working for those of us with TP2's? Anything special that has to be done? Or is it better to stick with 2.0?

Thanks!

I'll try that one for now. Really wish they could get the newer version working. Would like to compare both. I'll give the first a try.

Is there any other competing products out that are as good or better then Swype? Or is this the first of it's kind?

Hi! SlideIt is another program like Swype, but it is not free..... I like Swype better, though, because SlideIt messes with HTC Album.... Enjoy Swype!
