Re: Is Windows Mobile Vanishing?

Speaking of Apple, tomorrow is Wednesday, and something is supposed to happen. Is it the tablet release, or the iphone exclusivity over with? Seems to be the tablet from what I read, but we will see. Anxious to see what it's all about regardless.

Anyway, I do think that WM 7 will be the ultimate test whether or not WM stays around. (unless they have something else in the works) If that fails, then it's over. I do however wonder how the whole carrier and phone company thing works as far as what OS they want on their phones? I don't know if they have contracts or what, but I could see companies telling Microsoft that they just aren't up to par, and that none of their handsets will use WM anymore.

Again, I dont know how they come to this conclusion. If phone companies are seeing the numbers posted about Android and how it will eventually be number one, I can't see them wanting to go with much more.

Times are tough, and companies are going to do whatever it takes to sell their darn phones. Even if it means a mid level phone, but still with android.

Oh another note, the Palm Pre and Pixi for Verizon were both on dummy display today. Not only that, the Blackberry 8530 for Verizon was FREE on the tag.

I kind of wanted to play with the Pre on Verizon. I've messed with the real unit for Sprint at the store, but was hoping we'd have the Verizon one to play with to compare.

Just read this...

About 70% of Fortune 100 companies are actively piloting or deploying iPhones

Never realized that. For some reason, I didn't think it was that big of a phone for the business end. I always thought WM and Blackberry phones were used more. Now it does say Apple has some way to go to catch RIM, but with their presence and what not, I can see it happening where they catch up. Guess you learn and read something new all of the time.
