Re: How do people who owned the original Touch Pro feel about it now?

I had the original...and I never had any hardware issues for the phone. I've read up on everyone's screen issue, keyboard problems, back light issues...

I was itching for an upgrade...and was going to send the TP2 back when the HERO came out.

I know everyone is jumping ship from the tp and most went tp2. The list of features that was missing on tp2 is why i didn't switch. biggest issue for me was going from the mogul to the tp then to a tp2 with bigger screan and same res as my mogul. That was the first thing that killed it for me to go tp2. I knew it had no flash, an other killer. To have an old friend that works at sprint inform me that the tp2 had issues that sprint couldn't resolve and was the reason it never hit sprint stores and is only avail online or as a nagging request for a replacement, an other killer. But to read here and find it doesn't vibrate, holy cow not everyone works at a library. when i can't hear it i can feel it and still miss a call sometimes. I have one on cricket and the screen died and one on sprint. cricket one is a battery charger, and if it wasn't for the fact I'm scared to leave home changing out batterie 3-6 times a day, i would say it is a great device.

Was hoping to find something here to make me want a tp2 if sprint doesn't get the hd2, but finding self thinking of changing carriers to get out of my tp.
6.5 will come, not as quick as we like, but it will come..I have a feeling it will also have some nice enhancements ...hmmmm same res? Not sure who your informant is at Sprint but i think it safe to say if they are as misinformed as almost other sprint sales reps, techs , etc, are .... I do not think I would put much stock (no pun) in their opinion. The phone hit stores, but not as soon as it hit telesales. It costs a lot and most store reps have no clue how to sell a phone like that with all the things it does..Funny how the sprint reps OOHH and AWWW'ed over the TP2 when you brought one in before they sold them... LOL.
And as far as the nagging request, I think if you go back and see how hardcore Sprint was in the beginning about replacing the TP with a TP2 or how they refused steadfastly to budge on the price for most people, then you would not be saying it was being used s a replacement for nagging.. I think that honor belongs to the palm pre or instinct...The TP2 is not perfect but it definitely is a damn nice phone and everyone I know (Iphones, android users, other smartphones , etc . all cream their jeans with envy when we compare functionality)

Um my tp2 vibrates......
And it was worth the "work" to get it, 4 replacements, 2+ service repairs, keyboard replacement, countless burnt hands, chronic freezing and all. I have tried the treo and they tried to give me several other phones, but you buy the phone for what you want and need, so....TP2 for me! Remember I chose all the issues above over the other phones...when you got it...you get it!

No doubt... I had a Mogul (only 1) it lasted a little over a year before the keyboard was starting to wear out. I brought it for repair and they gave me a NIB TP1. Night and day difference. Then I went through 8 TP1s until I got a TP2.

A friend of mine still has his Mogul from Fall 2007... I absolutely hate it when he asks me to show him something on it. His buttons are wearing out but didn't get the insurance. I want to tell him "I told you so" on the insurance.

Couldnt have said it better myself. Exactly what i was thinking once i got one in my hands and not bolted to the wall. Would have taken that over the Moment in a heart beat. But coming from the TP, who would blame me for NOT wanting the successor phone thinking it would be the SAME POS in a different wrapper?

I like my week old tp2 much more than my tp1. The tp1 made me sad.

Re: How do people who owned the original Touch Pro feel about it now?

My TP2 has made me realize how much I relied on the flash of the TP as a flashlight. I miss that thing so bad. And I wish I still had a dpad...
