Re: Verizon Win6.5 out!
just like verizon to put their stupid logo animation at shutdown, that's how I knew this update was official. any one know how to get rid of that, 6.1 didn't show that at shutdown, I don't mind the startup one.

Re: Verizon Win6.5 out!
This upgrade is, in simple terms, awesome!
Bluetooth stack update is performing much better and now shows up on QuickMenu (it did not on the stock Verizon ROM) so it can be toggled, but the WiFi toggle still does NOT - it shows up as it did in stock, but is still non-functional for toggling; although, the Config option works. In regards to QuickMenu, a 3rd party utility I have been using since my TP1 days, it works and actually looks better, blending in with the background theme; although, there seems to be a glitch where it doesn't work unless you manually start it directly or from a shortcut after a soft reboot (such as a *228 PRL update). Powering down and back up seems to correct it. HTC WiFi router is working great as well - getting speeds of 2 down / .5 up which is noticably better than the stock radio. The new IE is like, wow this is the way it should have been a long time ago! Slight flickering back to the home screen issue with S2U2 2.24 when I first installed it, but seems to be ok now. Seems like it's running a bit cooler as well, but it has been chilly, even here in south FL. It's notably missing the old full on-screen keyboard which had the CTRL key - inconvenient. Also noticed low memory on the first boot, down to around 50MB, tho that cleared up to about 96MB on a full power-cycle with QuickLaunch and S2U2 running. Still need to install amAzeGPS, but I don't expect to have any issues with it. Overall snappier and snazzier. I'll give it a 9.5! Last edited by Silent_Patriot; 01-08-2010 at 03:25 PM. |

Re: Verizon Win6.5 out!
Updated my last night. Seems much faster and I like some of the changes...just now working on getting stuff set back up and installed again (what a pain). I had installed SPB Mobile Shell only about 3 weeks and and had gotten so used to it I almost forgot how to use stock touch flo, but I think I'll play around with it for awhile this way before I put the SPB MS back on.

Re: Verizon Win6.5 out!
Much needed update. One question though.. I got Animated weather ONCE last night after I installed. For some reason it hasnt done it since. It was snowing here last night and it still is today and its showing that on my weather tab but when I go to the Home tab its not animated. I'm using the stock VZW rom.

Re: Verizon Win6.5 out!
Surely Verizon has added software to this build to track tethering haven't they?
Do we know if the ICS Fix still works or not? Is the upgrade safe for tethering? |

I am still struggling with low memory |

Re: Verizon Win6.5 out!
Hold the End Call button down until it shuts completely off, then power back on. I usually give it at least 5 seconds before starting it back up. May have taken a couple power cycles to clear it up. Shows 72MB+ right now with WMP streaming internet radio. I haven't run the 2 cabs that free up memory yet and not sure I'm going to even bother with as well as it's running.
