Re: Verizon Win6.5 out!
This upgrade is, in simple terms, awesome!
Bluetooth stack update is performing much better and now shows up on QuickMenu (it did not on the stock Verizon ROM) so it can be toggled, but the WiFi toggle still does NOT - it shows up as it did in stock, but is still non-functional for toggling; although, the Config option works. In regards to QuickMenu, a 3rd party utility I have been using since my TP1 days, it works and actually looks better, blending in with the background theme; although, there seems to be a glitch where it doesn't work unless you manually start it directly or from a shortcut after a soft reboot (such as a *228 PRL update). Powering down and back up seems to correct it.
HTC WiFi router is working great as well - getting speeds of 2 down / .5 up which is noticably better than the stock radio. The new IE is like, wow this is the way it should have been a long time ago! Slight flickering back to the home screen issue with S2U2 2.24 when I first installed it, but seems to be ok now. Seems like it's running a bit cooler as well, but it has been chilly, even here in south FL.
It's notably missing the old full on-screen keyboard which had the CTRL key - inconvenient. Also noticed low memory on the first boot, down to around 50MB, tho that cleared up to about 96MB on a full power-cycle with QuickLaunch and S2U2 running.
Still need to install amAzeGPS, but I don't expect to have any issues with it.
Overall snappier and snazzier. I'll give it a 9.5!
