I am NOT comparing the future, lol. I am talking about right freaking now. The largest Canadian CDMA carrier is almost done fully converting their network to GSM. Right now, today.

And there is no way they would go through all the trouble of doing that if CDMA was so technologically superior.

So, technically, they are the only ones that can change from one to the other RIGHT NOW.

There's no point in disputing whether or not they could flip the switch to change tech because LTE and Wimax are far more similar than some may realize. They are not nearly as different as CDMA and GSM.
Similar, yes. But they still require different hardware.

LOL, I travel all the time. Maybe not to the same places as you, but I travel all the time. I have been in Phoenix, Seattle, Vegas, and my home city of Salt Lake all in the last few months.

I can't continue this debate anymore, its hurting my head. I'm going to go get on Call of Duty, drink a mamosa (champagne and orange juice) because I finally have a day off with nothing to do because of the new year and wait for Calkulin to upload his newest kitchen so I can build a rom with the newest landscape manilla. HAPPY NEW YEARS to all and i hope i didn't offend anybody today.

All of those low end customers are the ones sprint is losing to tmobile, not their tech savvy customers. Remember i wrote the majority of the US doesn't travel, so if tmobile actually works in your area and they are the cheapest and data speeds arent your concern then you should be on tmobile. The majority of the US doesn't know the difference between 4g or 3g, and tmobile is capitalizing off that.
Well T-Mobile has opnly been cheaper than Sprint for a month or so (since they came out with their new plans). They have been taking millions of customers from Sprint every quarter for a couple years now. So your argument doesn't hold water.

And, again, T-Mobile has been aggressively laying out the best 3G network in the nation, and releasing the best smartphones. You don't think tech savy people care about that?

Sure they do. If these people had crappy service, they wouldn't stay. Period.

What he's saying is that most of the customers flock to T-mob DON'T TRAVEL so they don't feel the sting of a less than stellar network. It works at home for those customers and they are good. The customer's who do travel (typically business customers) are far less likely to go to T-mobile due to the spotty coverage.
I gather that is what he's saying. I'm just calling BS on it. If it was only a few customers here and there, I could buy it. But we're talking about millions of people, every quarter. I have a hard time believeing that none of them ever go anywhere. Especially when I know for a fact that T-Mobile has been aggressively upgrading their network, while Sprint has been pretty slow to upgrade theirs (aside from adding Wimax to already existing coverage areas).

Because my friend, most of the innovative phone technology is being implemented overseas where GSM is prevalent. CDMA is superior to GSM in many ways, but has not flourished due to proprietary coding and the already flourishing GSM "flashy phone" market.

-And on topic: I am not planning on moving to the HD2. The screen is pretty, but just too big for my taste. It's something about having to switch from a phone holster to a briefcase that turns me off...
