WM6.5 is a pretty significant upgrade over WM6.1. I would definitely advise you to upgrade. It's far more finger friendly (I haven't taken my stylus out in months- expect to remove the back cover when I swap storage cards). It's also faster and more stable.

Actually, I think Microsoft does in fact acknowledge this as a problem. I think they're planning to be able to deliver over the air updates/upgrades directly. With WP7 being a much more locked down environment, without various OEM custom shells on top of it, they'll be able to roll things out more quickly. As much as many of us (myself included) are grumbling about the lack of customization in WP7, it does have benefits.

Microsoft doesn't need to lock it down in order to have the ability to roll out updates.

Microsoft could release the update to 6.5 right now if they wanted. They could have done it months ago if they wanted. It doesn't have to be over the air, a link on their website would have worked just fine.

And it doesn't have to include TouchFlo or any Sprint junkware. If HTC and Sprint want us to have their software, then it is just more incentive for them to get off their asses and release the update already. Because they would know we have an official ROM that works just fine without it.

Microsoft should have gven them like a month or so to release the update and then released their own after that.

6.5 is a significant upgrade but not for the last 2 reasons you named. 6.5 definitely isnt faster then 6.1 and 6.5 definitely isn't more stable then 6.1, just as stable possibly but not more stable. 6.1 is faster then 6.5, which kitchen or sys are you using for your roms thats giving you different results? Salty I'm seriously questioning your ppc knowledge after this one. First time I heard 6.5 is faster then 6.1, all the major rom chefs no 6.1 is faster. I've still tried every knew release of roms (all the new 6.5.x included) and all the new oems on my paperweight tp2. In the other thread you said You could customize your tp2 just as good as me, I highly doubt that.

Re: Is there a official 6.5 update for touch pro 2 for sprint

My guess is "applications users access the most" is an enhancement to the Sprint TV, GPS and Music tabs! I cannot wait. Imagine more integration with Sprints superb TV, scroll through the ten or so channels right from touch flo! I use the TV even more since they removed Comedy Central. Sprint Music is practically Itunes with a little swoosh logo and sooo easy to navigate. What if instead of album art it would display featured specials from the music store? Awesome. I'm gonna go down to my sprint store and get in line.

edit: can't bash on telenav because its actually pretty cool.

lol 6.5 is faster then 6.1 dude your wrong, the purpose of an upgrade is to be better. 6.5 has better memory management therefore you have more memory available, therfore your device will run better (faster) under certain situations. How can you question his ppc knowledge when yours is just as suspect lol

What program are you using to test the performance speed between the 2 system, I can tell You which one I use. Also what is going to make it faster when 6.5 uses more ram. Like I said go ask any chef, mm, calkulin, juicy, anybody will tell you 6.1 is slightly faster. I'm not going to even get into with you because its not even an argument, you're wrong. Funny how you think Its faster only because its an upgrade. This update and 6.5.3 update were for finger friendly update not to increase speed, LOL. I don't even know why I argue with half the people on here. Why do you think half the people never went to vista, it wasn't really an upgrade in terms of performance only looks.

a programs performance between the 2 wont be different, maybe how fast it opens but the actual program speed won't differ. We are still using the same processor, and they are based of of the same CE. 6.5 just has better memory management, and power management. 6.5 may take up more ram but it also is smarter with the way it manages memory. So i take it your still using a 6.1 rom?? And you said 6.5 is better but not for the reasons he mentioned, why is it better then??

and please go ask a chef, i talk to mighty on damn there a daily basis, Juggalo, and Juicy will tell you the same thing. 6.1 was faster until they learned how to get the maximum performance out of 6.5

That's my point, the fact that it takes less ram is what makes it faster. The only reason to update to 6.5 is the new look, its suppose to be easier and faster (by faster I mean find programs faster) to load programs and more finger friendly. At least with titanium I feel like I can still use my phone, 6.1 sucks if you turn off tf3d or sense, that's why.
