I tend to want to learn what causes issues, and how to fix them, rather than just say, oh well, i don't know that, i'll pretend it doesn't exist. lol. I laugh when tech support tries to explain to me how to program a device by "Pressing ##", then reads off the lock code by a script. lol.

I personally worked in Tech Support for over 4 years so I know how "dumb" most of them can be. But there are a handful of good ones out there and the same is true for store techs. They are just hard to find. Especially here in Oklahoma where we only have TWO service and repair locations in the entire state...

And if you are on these forums you most likely know quite a bit about your device, it's difficult to learn every aspect of all phones. And some are just worse at finding the way to resolve the issue... Last edited by c0011j; 12-13-2009 at 03:06 AM. |

Anyway, it is possible that they have a shipped ROM that they could have flashed to the phone. More than likely, however, they just hard reset the phone and gave it back to you. I'm sure if there was a shipped stock ROM that was available, it would have been either leaked or something to someone here on the interwebz. |

Re: can a store reflash an original rom?
I quit going to the Sprint Store for ANY tech support. I even hesistate calling tech support over the phone. I have received MORE tech support from PPCGeeks collectively than I ever did from Sprint!!!
Case in point, when I walked into one of the Sprint store with my TP2 a couple of weeks after receiving it in the mail...the couple of "techies" looked at it in awe...almost as if they have never seen one before. From what I gather is that a handful of reps actually receive hands on training on ANY new devices that were coming out. And most of that training is pretty much user manual stuff. (aside from the "##" codes to delve deeper into the device) but otherwise what they know is pretty much vanilla compared to the ben and jerry flavored knowledge that MOST of us here know... What most folks here know...is FAR deeper than most Sprint employees are trained to know. So for a PPCGeeker (with some time under their belt) to look at a Sprint Techie can safely assume that the Geeker knows more. For the store to flash the stock ROM again...wouldn't they have to HSPL the device first?? Or they do so with a signed copy of the ROM and won't need the device to be HSPL?
