I personally worked in Tech Support for over 4 years so I know how "dumb" most of them can be. But there are a handful of good ones out there and the same is true for store techs. Half the time it isn't the techs fault. It comes down to the training. Imagine how many handhelds there are to learn...

And if you are on these forums you most likely know quite a bit about your device, it's difficult to learn every aspect of all phones. And some are just worse at finding the way to resolve the issue...
