This is the most cracked out conspiracy theory I've ever read. Absolutely ridiculous.

1) You honestly think AT&T has ANY pull on HTC? Stop thinking in domestic terms...think in worldwide terms.

2) Good job, G1 is open source. So you honestly think HTC has a strong campaign behind it? Especially since the Diamond and Touch Pro are about to be released carrier-wide in the states...coupled with the Touch HD release worldwide?!?! Honestly.

3) What kind of nonsense is that? You think HTC is just gonna roll over and give in to another product dominating the market? Business 101. They see the iPhone selling like crazy...of course they're are gonna release a competitive product!

Who are "a lot of us" that are willing to hold out for the Touch HD? I challenge you to find 100 people on this forum that are willing to pass up the Diamond in favor of the Touch HD. Now take that number and apply to the real world. No one even knows about the Sprint/Telus Diamond...much less the Touch Pro. Yet you think the Touch HD will kill all those sales.

Don't mean to be offensive or come off as if I'm flaming...I'm just putting it in real world terms as best I can.

I would have held off buying a Diamond for a Touch HD...the only reason I bought a Diamond was because of post like these suggesting it would'nt be released in the US...that's 1 and counting...

This is more because only 1 carrier is having it for now. Android is huge, regardless of whether YOU like it or not. I don't like it at all but a massive amount of people do. Also, the HD is NOT going to be released worldwide. Only in select markets and, at least the Diamond, IS NOT going to be released carrier wide (if by that you mean all carriers).

I know of at least 100 people across several message boards that claim to be holding off on the Diamond AND the Pro for something better. In fact there was so much negative backlash to HTC not releasing the HD in the US, they released an official statement (not twitter talk) to Endgadget regarding it. WTH do you mean no one even knows about the Sprint/Telus Diamond or Pro?

How about I give U a challenge. Find 100 people that will still buy the diamond even if they know that the HD is coming to their carrier.

ur business 101 is absolutely a no no. LMAO. u try that strategy on ur business, U will drop like hot potato. When u have a business, U don't wanna compete. U wanna dominate the game. business hates competition.Only consumer likes competition because prices go lower. To dominate the game, U should think of something that nobody has done before. then U get everybody. if ur entering the market that is been dominated by a certain product, Expect that U will never get a hundred percent. U will only get a part of the whole sales. People that ditch the dominating product, Those are the only people that will buy to U. U will end up like instinct. instinct is already doomed way before it's release. Why? because it's the same time iphone 3g will be released. case and point. build a business selling sports shoe. see how NIKE murder ur business. LOL

Fact of the matter is that we get wrapped up in this forum and forget about the real world. The opinions on this forum are pretty far from the real world. I have never ever met anyone out in public that was into modding these phones like we are....ok, one guy...and I work with him.

How many people have you seen with a Mogul, Touch or iPhone that actually took the time to figure it all out and install 3rd party apps and customize it the way we do? 99.9999% of the time I see moms, dads and dumb kids that bought the phone just because they were told it's the coolest phone. Think outside this forum. That's the point I'm trying to make when I challenge you to find 100 people on this forum. How many Moguls, MDAs, Tilts, Touchs and Diamonds has HTC sold in America to date? Take a 100 from each of those phones and see if it really makes any impact? See if 500 phones collectively (spread out over 5 models) is enough to persuade HTC to re-develop and make adjustments for the US Market.

How the hell do you figure the Instinct is doomed? Dude, everyone and their maid has an Instinct. I see nearly as many Instincts as iPhones...nearly. im holding off on the touch pro now as well. waiting for whatever to come next after seeing the touch hd. i still think its a marketing scheme and will be release in the beginning of next year.

Plain and simple it boils down to the damn diamond. If it were not for the Diamond we would probably see this phone. IF THIS WAS RELEASED THEY WOULD NOT SELL ANOTHER DIAMOND!. Its the same thing with a bigger screen and like all Americans we think bigger is always better so everyone will pick the HD. It would have to have been within 50 bucks of each other so price would not have been the issue. It would be like the carriers having thrown away all development money spent on the Diamond. Plus people like us would demand a keyboard version too!
