I agree with summer 09. Actually, my guess would be March 09, just based on when the Diamond was announced in Europe, when it released there, and then when Sprint got it. March/April 09 would be the same amount of time.

I'm wanting to see the screen in person or some side-by-side tests with the touch pro. Some of the videos of the HD make it look as though the black level and off-axis viewing are not all that great. I hope it's just reflections or ambient light in the shots.

"We can't promise the US will get a phone similar to the HD, only hope along with you that the possibility exists."

and

"don't give up hope @globecode @alexdegruven and others. just because the HD isn't slated for america doesn't mean we'll never get a 480p HTC"

I hope that's just what they have to say because nothing official has been announced by any US carriers, but if it's true that the HD is not going to be in the US that's a shame.

I'm pretty new to the whole ppc scene, is it normal for Europe to always get the best phones the quickest and US always getting the shaft? Why is this?

It's always europe and asia first. I think it's because the GSM market is bigger. Plus when they bring it to the U.S., It has to pass a lot of inspections esp. FCC.

anyways, We might or might not see the U.S. version of the HD. But the important thing is that, It's already been done. It's just a start. More, better devices to come esp. in the U.S. it's just a matter of time. Now we start the waiting game.

Nooooo....I so want this phone. I hope ths isn't true. I am holding onto my Touch until HD comes out. I hope at least a phone nearly identical to the HD is released in the US.

Well, i am not too heartbroken about this phone (if it doesn't come to the US). The good news is that HTC had the guts to put out a powerhouse like the Touch HD and knowing Sprint, if they pick it up or something like it, they will try to get a "special" version which is more powerful than the original.

I just hope they do their full research first so that another there isn't another major oversight (crappy drivers in the Mogul and Touch).

VZ people, sorry, but VZ seems to be hell bent on never pushing the edge of technology in terms of smartphones, so their Touch HD will be QVGA...lol (just kidding but not really).

That sucks. I hope that is just because it hasn't been officially announced/picked up in the US. Otherwise, I guess I will have to go back to the Diamond... GAAAH!!!!

Hiya, I'm so torn seems that a lot of people have the same opinion as me to, I Have the Vouge, was thinking about getting the Diamond, (But was wondering how much of a up grade it really was and if was worth the upgrade?? opinions would be appreciated! I Heart my Vouge)Then seen the HD and absloutly fell in L-O-V-E Just wish I knew more details..... 3-6 Months I could hold out, I'm just Completly TORN .... Diamond/No Diamond, Wait for HD/ Or the next awsome HTC??? Gezz That HD is sweet though HMMMM, P.s. Why does it take so long for the U.S. to get all the good stuff so not fair! Have a Good one
