Do not wait for the HD. It might not come here. If U really like it, Switch to GSM. But It will not give U 3G coz the HD's 3G band is not supported here. U should be thankful other countries have it first. Because it will only come to the U.S. if it's worthy enough and before it comes here, it will be tested for consumers safety and posible side effect. And FCC makes sure, it does not infridge any patent or else they will ban it here.

If you feel, as I do, that the Vogue is fast enough and runs great (I have the CDMA 400Mhz version with 128MB RAM/256MB ROM), then the only real upgrade the Diamond has is the higher res screen. Yes, the Diamond has the accelerometer and other dohickeys but I've played with it and it's not worth the upgrade unless you are getting it for free. Wait for the HD or a phone off of the Tegra platform.

All that to say though, since the HD isn't coming to the US ("we have no plans for a US 3G version of the HD at this time." - http://twitter.com/htc"), then the Diamond IS the premier phone on the US market right now. Hopefully something based on Tegra comes out ASAP! ("The first NVIDIA Tegra APX-based devices are expected to begin shipping in late 2008." - http://www.nvidia.com/object/apx_2500.html)

That's it!! I will not buying another phone until a WM HD like phone is released in the US. I don't have the money to keep buying phones that are incremental improvements on the previous one. I'm staying with my Sprint Touch.

Same here. My next phone will be one with a screen the approximate size of the HD with at least the specs of my Touch or I won't buy a new phone until my Touch breaks.

Sad news my fellow hopefuls. The HTC Super Phone is not coming to the U.S. and it's official. So give up ur hopes. it aint happenin. LOL

sad news, US. we looked into it- by the time we could bring Touch HD to the states, it would be old news. we do have other cool stuff coming

So true. I p***** along the post 4 days ago in this thread when HTC said "HD isn't slated for america" but it didn't do much either. go figure.

Here's hoping the next HTC device for North America will be similar to the HD with:
+ camera shutter button
+ d-pad (or thumb stick / mini-track ball to save space)
+ flash
+ 1800 mAh battery
+ TV-out
+ and perhaps one extra hardware application button on the side

That would make this whole no-hd-for-us thing a non-issue for me
