NEW Palm Threaded sms app with MMS 4/1/09 - Page 5

Hello,

I have been trying this on my Sprint Treo Pro. Everything works great, with the exception of recieving MMS messages (I skimmed previous pages, forgive me if I didn't see this come up).

The error I get is related to an error downloading the MMS message...

Since I just purchased my Treo Pro, I tried a hard reset, then installed the Palm Messaging app first and foremost...

Anyone seen this error?

Update: Actually saw this is a known issue on TreoCentral's thread...

Yep, that's a known issue that I thought one of you geeks over here would've solved by now.

It's weird that it works perfectly for Alltel, but not for Sprint. Where are the MMS geniuses at?

Yes, it would be great if someone could find a resolution. I've been missing this so much since upgrading to the Pro from my 800w.

I'm not sure this will work, but I've added 5 different res icons to the today plugin. Hopefully WM will select the right one. Try it and let me know.

You'll have to uninstall Palm Messaging if you have it already installed following these steps, then download and install the new one.

1) Go to Start->Settings (Personal tab) and select the Today settings icon.
2) Select Items tab and uncheck boxes for "Messaging" and "Inbox".
3) Hit ok to refresh the today screen.
4) Soft reset
5) After boot go to Start->Settings (System Tab) and select the Remove Programs icon.
6) Select Palm Messaging and click Remove.
7) Soft reset

The above link is blocked by my work firewall, but I'll give this a try later from home. I really wish they'd resolve the issue w/ new messages not displaying an icon in the top toolbar. Thanks again hannip.

Oops, here you go.

Btw, if this cab doesn't fix it for you I'll try just removing the larger icons from the plugin.

Edit: Ok, Here is a version with only the 16x16 res icon in the today plugin. When I installed it on my Treo it looks different so I know it's using the icon. Not sure but the app might be scaling the icon to what it thinks is the right size. Give it a try.

Ah well, so it must be the plugin that is resizing the icon them. Just for fun I created a hybrid version of the cab that uses the plugin from the Treo 750. Sure enough it uses the small icon in this mode. The one issue is that the 750 plugin looks for the unread count in a different spot from where the Treo 800 app sets it. If you use Treo Alert it will actually work since TA keeps the two registry counts in sync, but if you don't the plugin won't show the count.
