I think I got a steady setting now. I went ahead and changed the setting to Telus and they seem to be holding much better. It hasen't dropped in the suspected 6-8 hours like verizon or other agps servers I have found.

Re: VZW aGPS issues anyone?

I am running mr1 with valhalla update, no reg changes, and I used the free 30 day one time trial of vznav to get agps working again. I get locks just like I used to, and all I have to do is prime the system with vznav, and any app that used to work is golden. I don't want to use telus' setting as they probably won't let you guys use them forever, and some are reporting issues with speed. I want to find out why I have access to the vzw agps servers, and you guys don't. I have 25 days left until I have to do something, so I am trying to figure out how my phone is different so when vznav is gone I can still have agps. I have tried telus, and standalone gps (without agps), and I am most satisfied with vzw's agps service on their servers... On a side note, I am trying to use QPST to see data about my phone. look for changes from vznav, but when i load info from phone, the whole side of the gpsone tab is clear. Is that normal, or is there supposed to be an ip address?

Re: VZW aGPS issues anyone?

Ok, so I am confused.

I can confirm that aGPS is working on Telus, Alltel, and (most importantly) Verizon server IPs.

I can't tell why, and for how long but I am getting 6-7 sats with under 10 second locks on all three server settings inside. I never got a lock inside using unassisted GPS so I can only assume it is working. I will wait a few hours before saying that this is permanent fix so I can get some locks from a cold start. Of course, I made these changes to both QPST and registry.

Could some other people check this out?

Here are the settings:

Telus:
PDE IP Address = 216.198.139.92
PDE Port Number = 8889
PDE Transport = IP
Position Calculation = PDE
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\SUPL AGPS\ServerIP=216.198.139.92
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\SUPL AGPS\ServerPort=8889

Alltel:
PDE IP Address = 205.142.19.100
PDE Port Number = 8888
PDE Transport = IP
Position Calculation = PDE
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\SUPL AGPS\ServerIP=205.142.19.100
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\SUPL AGPS\ServerPort=8888

Verizon:
PDE IP Address: 66.174.95.132
PDE Port number: 8888
PDE Transport: IP
Position Calculation: PDE
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\SUPL AGPS\ServerIP=66.174.95.132
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\SUPL AGPS\ServerPort=8888

P.S. I also posted this same info at XDA

Well I didn't try them all but I can confirm that the Verizon settings work fairly well.....

Just Kidding!! I haven't used GPS in about 8 hours and I pulled the battery out for good measure. So it was pretty much a cold start. 1..2..3..4..5..6 seconds... LOCK!!

Thanks for keeping an eye out. The bastards can't keep a good geek down aye!

Re: VZW aGPS issues anyone?

yes, that is what I am saying. I put the original settings from GC's tutorial and it works (along with Telus and Alltel). Please verify.

That's a big 10-4!!

I've also got a theory that the reason the Verizon aGPS is better than the Telus (for Verizon users) is that all the goodies that the QPST/GPSOne enables are not available through Telus.

ya' know the. Assistance-spherical, Assistance-cartesian, GPS-Almanac, GPS-Almanac correction, etc. Just a hunch but something has to explain why there is a difference. I spent months with Verizon aGPS, a week with plain ol' GPS, and a week with Telus aGPS and there is definitely a performance difference. Sort of a Good - Better -Best situation.

Just change these values manually in registry editor and you should be golden:

HKLM\Software\Valhalla Legends\GPSServer\Mode=2 (the original value)
HKLM\Software\Valhalla Legends\GPSServer\PDEAddress=5C8BC6D8 (HEX)
HKLM\Software\Valhalla Legends\GPSServer\PDEPort=8889

Doesn't hurt to change these to match (but I don't think they are necessary):
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\SUPL AGPS]
"GPSMode"=4
"EnableAGPS"=1
"EnableGPSSmartMode"=1

New guy here and im having trouble getting my gps to work again, everything was working great until i had to hard reset and now i get nothing, I tried to enter the Valhalla reg edits and still nothing, i'm using memaid to edit the reg and everything is entered exactly, except the 5c8bc6d8, i have to enter 1552664280 (hex), could this be my problem? i noticed that if i run vznav that everything works fine after i close it.
mobile 6.1 build 19212.1.0.3, with valhalla gpsServer patchs,baf gps,htc tools,quick gps installed, Any ideas i what i could try because i really dont like VZnav
