Re: Very disappointed in the local store tech, need advice

The CSRs do make money from upgrades and adding data plans. One reason I bought the titan was because it was one of the few smart phones I didn't have to buy a data plan for. The lady tried to tell me that it was now required on all smart phones but I said to look at the computer again because it can be on a pay per kb plan. She was like oh and said don't tell others that. I think implying that she didn't want to lose the extra money on no data plans. I mean look at the pearl now it is free on Verizon because they make so much extra money on the data packages. Every teenybopper in the world buys one now.

I agree go to a different store or call in to the techs at verizon wireless, They have a great well trained staff that actually will be able to get to the root of the problem and fix your issue.

Re: Very disappointed in the local store tech, need advice

Ok, my refurbished 6800 just arrived via FedEx. The WiFi will absolutely not connect, and I haven't even activated the phone yet.

I simply can not wait another day because of my job for another replacement...

What are the chances that if I walk into a Verizon store with a tech department and explain nicely to them that this is my 5th 6800 inside of 2 weeks and ask for different model that they will offer me an in store replacement with a Touch Pro? I've completely lost faith in refurbished 6800s, and I need a comparable phone with a QWERTY keyboard.

Any advice is still appreciated!

well, if you call in dont say that you want a new device just advise that you are sick of the trouble that you are having with the 6800, advise of all the issues that you have had and you "could" get changed out for a different device.
