I've never used wireless activesync (only USB) and have had the choppy sound a number of times. Nearly every conversation that I've had over BT on the 6800 has resulted in complaints about the outgoing sound quality.

DOOOH - I was hoping I found the source of the issue if not the solution. I was going to disable activesync on my phone and see how many complaints I got.

Has anybody had issues with battery life on their bluetooth headset? I upgraded from a 700wx and kept using my Plantronics 655 headset. My 655 barely lasts 8 hours with maybe 15-20 minutes of talking and the rest in standby when using it with my Mogul. The headset is only 6 months old, and I didn't have longevity issues with the 700wx. Plus, I thought bluetooth 2.0 was supposed to help battery life.
Any thoughts? |

I want to invest in a bluetooth headset for my 6800 but i'm afraid of the potential issues. Has it been confirmed that the HTC X-button v1.5 causes problems with bluetooth? I have that app installed on my phone. Or is it just a driver/hardware problem?

I can confirm that while I have problems with BT I do NOT have HTC X installed.
thought I'd send a cleaner list of items that will NOT solve the BT issue so you don't have to repeat my efforts if you prefer not - I can confirm the following will NOT solve the issue on my phone - preventing the sprint custom apps from installing on bootup pairing from a distance Staying still during a call Getting more than 3 bars for phone reception not installing HTC X not installing additional apps putting a full charge on my phone and headset making sure my headset is no more than a few feet from my phone with a direct line of site and no case Hard resetting/clearing my phone making sure the headset is the ONLY BT item on my phone - I do NOT have a PC with a BT connection to my phone. Using a BT 2.0 headset Using a headset with DSP Using a headset without DSP Talking loudly Talking quietlyTurning WIFI off Turning OMA/activesync off Using my arms like an antenna to tune in my call I can confirm I don't have any problem hearing my clients ever - the issue is at the remote end - the person calling you or that you call suffers the BT issue. There are some who say they haven't had any issues so it is possible that some phones don't have this issue however some who said they weren't having the issue have since then changed that statement and say they started having issues. There are two things that account for this 1. the issue is random - some calls are fine and some are not - it also sometimes happens on good calls as your time on the line extends. 2. Since the issue is at the other end - not on your end of the 6800 many assume that since their end sounds fine - it must be for the person on the line with them. I'm still trying to get any positive confirmations form people who have had the phone for at least a week and spend a good amount of time on the phone they haven't encountered the issue yet. If that is the case, the issue may be with quality/batches of the 6800. Or it may be the luck of the draw they just haven't encountered the issue yet as it is random however after a couple of weeks of heavy use, chances are they should have encountered it if it effects all the 6800s. I get the feeling the issue is more likely a driver/stack issue than a bad batch of phones however only time will tell. I'd suggest you call 866-449-8358 if you are experiencing the issue as only a flood of calls will probably get any true forward momentum onthe solution. |

So wtf? It is stupid that bluetooth headsets don't work correctly on this phone. I did call HTC about it last week and they mentioned that they got a few calls regarding this issue.. but the rep just suggested I do a hard reset.
So what now? We have to sit back and wait for a fix.. what if there is never a fix? |

If 100,000 of these phones are sold and only 20 people call in to report an issue with the BT - they aren't likely to take it seriously. If 2,000 people call in - just 2% you can be sure they'll be looking for a solution to the issue. If you call Sprint like HTC wants you to, chances are it will get lost in the system, Sprint can't track an order for a phone - they won't have a better system in place for tracking a complaint about a phone so save your time and just call HTC. For all you people who think Sprint or HTC read this thread - forget about that - it isn't happening, it won't happen. I'll probably call HTC every week until the issue is resolved - futile maybe but much more likely to be effective than just writing stuff here and hoping HTC will read it for some reason. The only other option that will bring out the patch even sooner is if 2,000 people arrange for an exchange of their phone for the same unit because of the BT issue. Sprint will take notice of things that actually cost them time and money. I'm trying to arrange for an exchange through the person in charge of BuzzAboutWireless - Sprint's own website to escalate the issue - perhaps if more people posted there it also might get Sprint's attention - http://forums.buzzaboutwireless.com/...&thread.id=679 currently participation on Sprint's own forum is extremely low. |

Okay guys. Isn't everyone annoyed with this bt issue or what? I just tried having a conversation with the motorola hs820. My gf was yelling at me to take off the bluetooth because I kept fading in and out. What the hell? Shouldn't everyone complain.
