I think a problem might be that even if you had the ability to send a txt over 160, the recipient would still be limited to only receive the 160.

I hadn't thought about that. I'll give it a go anyway and see what it can do. The only person it really text enough to worry about it is the wife. I don't really ever get the chance to talk to her while I'm at work so when I get the chance to text her I usually run long and have to send her more than one.
