Hey thanks a lot guys for explaining the whole retentions thing........So here's my update......
So I called one of the millions of numbers they gave me and spoke with a nice rep who couldn't really help me but told me it would be another 3-5 business days. So then I asked him to let me speak with a supervisor. I talked to supervisor pretty nicely but also told him that I was super duper pissed and that if they don't get my phone to me by Friday then I am gonna' cancel my account. He spoke with me very nicely and told me that he would give me another $25 credit (woohoo...what a big break... ) and that he would personally send a message to the activations to rush the order and put high priority. So then I hung up with him and later called Rententions....now those people actually are nice people who you actually feel like talking to....others are trained to be rude! So then the retention guy tells me that my order was cancelled immediately after if was placed so there is no shipment going out to me. Now I was pissed! But I still managed to talk to him nicely and told him that on Friday it will be 5 business days since I placed my order and if I don't get my phone by then I will cancel. He offered me $50 off the phone (wow...another big break...I thought you guys said these guys give MAJOR discounts???) and told me that the phone was on back order and that they would restock on the 22nd. So I agreed to that and he placed another order for me and told me that the phone would be in my hands on Monday. Now I got home and checked my status at 6:00pm and my original order status said: awaiting fulfillment or whatever. OOokayy. Then I check again just a little bit ago and now I have a tracking number. hmmmm And this is for the original order. So what do you guys think....talk about an adventure!! |

By the sound of that, if the retentions rep placed another order, you may actually receive 2 phones since you say the original order now shows a tracking number.
As far as major discounts with retentions... they'll try to make you happy but they are not dumb, they'll low-ball you first... if you accept they are not gonna offer you more. I personally have never ordered anything through retentions... On another note... what a mess it has been this release. I don't remember the 700wx release being such a hassle. It's probably the merge of the Nextel order system with the Sprint inventory. |

Like I said before, Sprint's usually been really awesome with me about dealing with problems with the 6700. They've never offered me a refurbished phone...always a brand new one....and I've switched about 4-5 6700s already. Either way, lets see if I receive the phone tomorrow or not....I am really looking forward to getting it tomorrow finally. |

So I received my tracking info last night at around midnight. UPS site said "Billing Info Received" when I enter my tracking number but no actual tracking information such as location....so I don't even know whether it has left the primary facility yet. WHen I call UPS to check the order the answering system says, "billing info received" means the shipper intends to ship a package but UPS has not received it yet. UGHHHH!! On top of that, I just noticed on the tracking info on UPS site that the shipping method is GROUND while I had payed for OVERNIGHT.....what the!!!!
I don't think I've had a good morning since I placed this stupid order. |

Ok quick first impressions.
1. First thing I noticed was the significant reduction in weight. Probably cuz most of the heavier parts and case have been replaced with plastic. 2. The keyboard quick-snap is kinda nice, but using the jog wheel takes a bit of practice so you don't push the keyboard out. 3. Sound quality, very nice. Sounds better and cleaner than my 6700. |
