Rom is 3.56.651.0

I was going to take my first crack at a custom after this hard reset, but figured I better make sure the stock is working first.

I have outres.dll.0409

I suppose I can try another hard reset and see if that does anything.

BTW I have not loaded anything at this point, not even my pim.

indeed i do. check titan upgrades for the thread i started on custom taskbar icons. don't know if i listed them individually there or not

have you programmed the phone? that.dll you listed should be there along with the one i listed. check the post i referenced above. i dont know if the original .dll is posted. but i can post it when i get home

Okay, so

Hard reset - ran all the way through including Sprint customizations. At this point I see the vm icon with a count, but the missed call icon does not appear.

Hard reset again then soft reset to bypass Sprint. Now the vm icon is missing again and still the missed call. Haven't set up email yet so don't know if that icon/notification is working.

I thought to myself, I wonder if I need to use TC to see some of the dlls, so using that I looking in my windows directory, I have outres.96.dll, outres.dll and outres.dll.0409.mui.

Maybe re-downloading the stock and starting over?

I really appreciate your thoughts on this.
