Well, I decided to d/l the stock rom again and re-re-re-re-re-flash...

Stock rom flash full allowing Sprint customization

After this I have the vm icon/notification (didn't send any text or set up email, but I assume those were working too).

Flashed again, but byp***** customization.

Now, no vm icon/notification, no missed call notification, text message notification is there with count.

Assuming there are no other thoughts on this, maybe now is really the time to try my first custom rom. I had been planning to do one after this hard reset, but I wanted to be sure everything was working before I did it.

Happy to snowman... If you need any advice on picking the right ROM, or help on building your own, just let us know.. It's a way of life for a true PPC Geeker, to help and encourage..
