Disappointed to hear it's not even a bit better in backlight. But it sure does look a bit whiter rather than bluer which is good. Thanks for the pic.

Looked to me that the 6800 was brighter, of course I don't know whether or not the backlight settings were the same.

LOL....They are both set at 100%. They have identical screen protectors on, and I had Judge Judy beside me to verify that I wasn't tainting the evidence.

i noticed something with my 6700 and 6800. I recently swapped my 6700 out before the warranty was up and the new unit I got has a different type of screen than the other 6700 units I had. The difference is that with the old units, I could look at the screen with my polarized sunglasses on and see the screen perfectly, however the new unit's screen shows the rainbow effect like most other screens. This is also true with my P4000.

The only reason I really need it is Rev A (using EVDO now for my PC's internet connection) which the 6800 won't have until Q3, probably Septemberish, the same time it gets upgraded to WM6. I might just hold of buying one until then, but I'll upgrade eventually.

Huh, I think the thumbwheel is just awesome on the Q. Granted, it could have some engineering fixes but the functionality of it...when I play with my Treo I naturally look for the scroll wheel. It just makes navigation so much easier. I'm shocked more companies do not use it.

As far as the 6800: too little too late.

I mean it's a nice device and I'm sure 6700 users will be thrilled but I mean seriously:

- doesn't launch with WM6
- No front camera for vid conferencing? that's what RevA was all about
- 2mp camera? Should be 3mp by now.
- Still QVGA?
- No Built in GPS?

This would have been awesome device...1 year ago but today...when things like the HTC Kaiser are coming out, it's just not a blow-away device. More incremental. When I see things l like the cheap (and "dumber") devices like the Helio Ocean (riding on Sprint's network) it makes me wonder...

Not that it is wrong for HTC/Sprint/Verizon to do so but I'm just less wowed than I would like to be.

Still it'll be interesting to see if I pick one up (I'd like to at least hold out to the RevA/WM6 patch).

I agree that all those features should be on Sprint....but I believe we are dealing with the reality that manufacturers view CDMA phones as almost an after thought review source. We only get the crumbs that are a day old a year before Sprint or VZ releases them.
