My experience with this.

I followed (the awesome) instructions and was unable to get this to work.
Well I figured something wasn't holding like the reg edit stuff so I downloaded DotFred's Task Mgr to check out the reg. I noticed that the server port was not staying at 8888 so i edited that and went to try it again.

I locked on to 7 satelites in 3 seconds standing by the front door of my work building. I then proceeded back into the inner realms of the building still holding onto 3-5 satelites until I was back in my office where it went to 0, yes no windows, but then no nosey onlookers either. Someday I'll be big time and have a window.

Can someone help me out, ##3424 doesn`t work for me, and opening Dmrouter.exe does nothing either. I cant get the Htc Diag Com port on Device manager. I`ve tried serveral times and I cant get it to work, I followed the step exactly, whats wrong/

Let me repost my question, I was pretty tired and aggrevated last night when I originally posted. I am trying to get this fix to work on my Touch, but I run into problems when it comes time to running the diag on the phone. I`ve dialed the different combinations of 3424, and also tried running Dmrouter.exe under /DIAG parameters. Should I see something happen on my phone when I do that? I don`t see anything in the running processes fro Dmrouter.exe after I open it. I simply can`t get my phone to connect and show up in Device Manager in XP. I`m using the 3.42.5 radio and NFSFAN`s Alltel 1.02 rom if that helps.

ill be back to a cpu in a day. ill go thru and answer all ur questions then. sorry but ur gonna have to wait a day.

all i ca say now to the last question is that u need to make sure the diag drivers are installed on ur pc. when u put ur phone in diag mode it should flash a white screen but then it will close it on its own. install drivers. reboot pc. put phone in diag mode. wait 2mins. check device maager. if that doesnt work still then u may be missing a cab file from ur extended rom. there are a few files in the extended rom for alltel that should be installed. search for 'ext rom # codes alltel' or something allong thatose lines.

I tried and tried to do the fix using nfsfans alltel roms and never could get it to work. He says its missing the correct driver for XP to recognize it. I searched znd searched for the driver and never found it.
My advise is flash Conflippers 10/21 ROM and change and PagePool to 24, for Alltel you cant beat it.

running Dmrouter.exe has never worked for me, but if your ## dialer codes don't work do this:

To Fix ## CODES use this registry entry.

On NFSFAN's ROM you can open DMrouter, its in the program menu under phone tools, but when you plug your phone into your PC it will never install. NFSFAN says theres a driver missing in his ROM thats not letting Windows XP recognize it. I finally gave up on trying to figure it out.
