i think that verizon phones need to be patched reguardless of wether u use 6.0 or 6.1. but i only have the patch for 6.0.

Thanks shadow-tech. That is language I understand. I will be returning. One last thing though. On 1st Thread its says to "check your Rom" for the 6900 it says PPC6900 > ROM ---3.04 or greater
PPC6900 > Radio --3.37 or greater

my (Verison) xv6900 says
ROM version 1.15.605.14
Radio version 1.60.30 Am I missing something here? Is the 6800 fix the same as the 6900? thanks again.

Re: Alltel GPS with A-GPS - super fast lockon

I have the same alltel rom you guys have and have been getting locks around 5 seconds inside my home. I'm finding around 10 sattilites consistantly. Although it did take longer the first time.
I didn't do the fix, but i did run the shadow reg edit cab.
Also i was able to download the latest quickgps that comes with the device,
that i think helped the most.
One more thing, I was able to get some kind of weak lock without any kind of modifications in windows live, and google maps.

Re: Alltel GPS with A-GPS - super fast lockon

OK, I have been trying to get my GPS to work, but been unable. I have and older Alltle ppc6800, Downloaded and installed WM6.1. Set my phone settings to "on". Set my gps to com4, none, 4800, yes.... Installed the quick connect and registry edits. Google maps show Seeking GPS Sats.. (0), GPS Active...
But never finds any Sats...I has been searching for hours now. Can anyone tell me what I am missing? Thanks

Re: Alltel GPS with A-GPS - super fast lockon

Hello guys
I Just got my HTC touch pro from sprint

At first i follow the 1st guide that has everything preset for Telus
then i found the link for TROUBLESHOOTING where it show the correct settings for sprint Agps but

i can't even get a lock inside or outside with this settings :

Sprint: (this works according to reeg420, thanks!)
PDE IP Address = 68.28.31.49
PDE Port Number = 5017
PDE Transport = IP
Position Calculation = mobile (PDE may work better for sprint)

i have to use the settings that came with my phone only thing that changes is the port 4503 but only works outside i get 7-9 sats

but still can't get aGPS signal inside the house little worried because in the morning i gave a ride to school to a family member and well i had the previews settings on for ( Telus Network) and well i could not get a lock inside my car i even stop on my way back and hold it up on the winshield for few minutes and nothing.

I've already put the settings for sprint but with port 5017 is just like having Telus settings get no lock inside or outside (tested on my backyard) after editing the port to 4503 get sat outside in my backyard still haven't tested if it work in my car without having to have it on windshield but inside the house nothing even thought everything in allow & capavilities section is check mark not like before that it was greyed out.
(i also edit the registry to reflect 4503)

i still have my iphone and that thing gets Gps everythere even when is in my pocket while driving it doesn't need to be located in the windshield hopefully i can resolve this issue.

lol i got PPC only cause Skyfire if u need to know
still have to discover all the cool apps outthere but the past hours have been fun.

hope i can get aGPS to working anyone know of any news setting i can try out

done everything to letter as it reads on this guide but nothing .

cab files install for sprint

i did notice this not the HTC Touch + Touch Diamond forum but since the troubleshooting thread links here
or are there older models know as HTC Touch + Touch Diamond as well ?

Re: Alltel GPS with A-GPS - super fast lockon

Shadow,
I had used your tips to enable and then speed up my GPS on the old Rom and it worked great. I then flashed the new Rom, used my SPB backup to reinstall my software etc and then GPS wouldn 't work. I hard restarted and GPS does work.
My question is, since with SPB I can choose exaclty which files not to restore from the backup is there a list of specific files I can just deselect from my backup restore so they will not interfere with the gps on 6.1?(guess I should have just stuck with my old rom )
I would rather not completely reconstruct all of my data, programs, and settings from scratch if I don't have to!

Thanks,

Larrupin

Hi Shadowtech-
thanks again. I had a post last night but not sure where I posted it (it was 1 a.m.) I was directing it to you or others. I thought I had things all set up but then in my ignorance realized 'hey you still have to do the rom thing!' So to put it simply, what is the best rom for the verizon xv6900 and is there a step by step 'rom update for dummies' or a reasonable facsimili? thanks leslie
