I assumed it was because of an incorrect push. Considering I had to talk to two techs before I received 60613. Of course I don't know Sprint's systems. At first I assumed that "flagged for an update" merely was a 1-button option. But per the tech I talked to last night it doesn't appear that way. Maybe possible that different levels are available to different techs. Or as mentioned previously (maybe here, maybe somewhere else, I read wayyy too much) it may have something to do from what towers were located in the area at the time. I'm willing to bet more on the latter, due to the fact that I'm located in the Midwest and we have our fair share of local Cell Companies.

Re: Prl 60613 6/17/08

Hey if anyone has problems with the roaming and the soft reset like I did, I redownloaded the PRL from this thread on page 2 and pst loaded it into my Mogul and everything is good now.

Previously, I was getting the roaming data triangle after every boot and it was taking a few mins to get my EVDO back. Not it is going on EVDO within a minute.

Depending on who you talk to and what system they're using, yeah it can be as simple as a push of a button. Not to knock ATS, but they're not exactly the most knowledgeable in the company... They're just better at reading information out of something called KMS, and a few less restrictions on tools.

I did have an interesting chit chat with an engineer earlier this afternoon concerning things so hopefully it'll get sorted out.

By the way, where abouts in the Midwest? (Just curious if you were in an affiliate network or Sprint corporate network).

Re: Prl 60613 6/17/08

60613 also enables voicemail message count (accurate # of msgs in your mailbox) 60711 didnt provide for this. only thing is your tower must have the appropriate updates applied to it, they didnt get all market's sites updated yet.... some of the older switches out there are going to be a little while before they get updated

I agree that I don't the PRL has an affect on the voicemail message count. I was still on 60610 when it started working for me last week.

Uhh.. A PRL is a preferred roaming list. Basically tells your phone what frequences to use when in roaming. (Meaning it tells your phone which roaming partners towers to use in what areas). Doesn't have an effect on your voicemail count. Although voicemail count can be delayed while in roaming along with texts and other information.

I'm out of Des Moines, Iowa. I travel quite a bit over the Midwest. But I use my cell primarily out of Des Moines.

And I completely understand what you are saying. I work as a support team member for a call center. I can tell you that we have some bright techs on the phone, but most are basically reading docs from our Sharepoint rather than having any intuition themselves. I know 100% where you are coming from.

I'm new to this... Is there a way to check which version I have before going through all of this?
