why don't u all try the ##775# with unvivid's file on the previous page i tried it and it works fine. all u do is unzip the file put it in the storage card open up the dial pad and dial ##775# is going to ask u for the msl put it in then browse for the prl file in the storage card and and save it. its going to ask u to soft reset the phone and there u r done.

mofotrucker is right thats the same way i do it when i use alltels prl when im at work. its both fast and easy .....kinda like most of my woman ....HEY-O

I've often found it necessary to run the IOTA tool after PRL updates to alleviate roaming / slow signal acquisition issues.

From my reply to this guys post over at SprintMogul.net...

I hate to sound like a stickler... but you do know their is a MUCH MUCH MUCH easier way of updating the PRL on your phone....

1) Simply take the PRL file for 60613 place it on the root of your MicroSD card...
2) Go to the dialer...
3) Input ##PRL# (no need for MSL if i remember correctly...)
4) Click brouse for the file...
5) update...
6) ???
7) PROFIT!!!!!!...... i mean your phone should have updated and restarted back on step 5... GLHF

that is the way I do it, but after ##778# you will be prompted for your MSL, so you do need it.

I'm a little annoyed that people can't/don't read. I included the procedures I used to extract the file in case anyone was interested. I assumed that most people here would know how to load the PRL...

Hi. Forgive my ignorance, but why do you need to update the PRL? I have a touch. My PRL is 60610. Does a new PRL improve the phone? And how do you get the MSL?

The PRL is supposed to improve roaming with other carriers by registering the towers. In some cases it can allow you to access newly deployed Sprint EVDO-A towers as well if there has been a recent build-out in your area.

That said, I would not assume that the PRL will work properly with anything but a Mogul since it is so new. In addition, I've got some serious doubts as to whether or not this is a test PRL anyway.
