Re: 6800 Garmin GPS.......

I have a gift card at Best Buy that would cover the 2009 map upgrade on SD. If I buy that can I download the software and get it running from scratch, or do I need to purchase the whole package (Best Buy does not seem to carry that!)

I use COM 4 with no problems. Com4 or intermediate works with Garmin. The problem is Garmin itself. I would recommend going back to a older version. Lots of people are having issues with it locking.

it does work on both com 4 and intermediate driver..although if u keep it on com 4 and run and exit garmin two or three times it will lock up your phone..but if u put it on intermediate garmin wont lock up once every 3 times you run and close it..

Re: 6800 Garmin GPS.......

I'm sorry if this was covered before but it takes like literally a couple minutes to calculate routes. How can I speed that up? I'm running 5.00.20W w\ the full US map (2009 Navigator I believe).

Man, the Intermediate setting worked! Garmin would lock up 50% of the time before but has not locked up in the last 15 or so times I've started the app. Thanks!

50020w Changes my clock to 7:00. I don't understand at all. I didn't read that any else had that problem. I wonder why. I came straight from version 42020

One of the older versions used to do something similar to mine, but that was only when it wasn't able to get a satellite lock.
