I hear that...

Funny though that this only affect version 4.20.30 and up.

I do hope version 4.20.60 comes out soon and this is fixed.

On a side note have you seen the Blackberry version ? It looks much nicer, I wonder why they don't use the same on WinMo.

Re: Garmin GPS.......

Ok my 2 cents.
Works fine on my Sprint Touch.
Side by side with my Mogul it works the same. Matter o fact all I did was pull me SD card out of my 6800 and slap it in my 6900 and it worked no problems no mods/changes.

Re: Garmin GPS.......

I'm using .50 with a very complex Garmin map - topo, navigator 2009, blue chart of Gulf of mexico and central/eastern inland lakes -- total map is right under 2 GB and it all runs very fine.

I also have Tom Tom 7 and IGO8 (July 30th) and they all work fine too.

My Mogul runs them all just fine and I switch between them all the time (can be dangerous while you're driving). I usually use a blue tooth GPS antenna while travelling and only use the built in when in a large city looking for a place to eat.

As a side note - my brother has an ATT Tilt and the Garmin map for the Gulf of Mexico and his built in GPS works just fine without any signal whatsoever from ATT. The Gulf map shows depth and location of rigs, wrecks, etc, he works off shore.

I'm using the latest rom.

Mule

Re: Garmin GPS.......

Well I finally was able to update to 4.20.50 but now I'm having troubles getting locks.

Also because it's not locking on the satellites, it changes my clock to 8:00 PM and the date to the 13th of sept 08.

I'm the GPS settings, should I select Intermediate Driver, or Serial GPS and then COM4?

Re: Garmin GPS.......

Not sure if I should still be posting in this thread, but I wanted to let you guys know that there is a new update 5.00.10wp.

Lots of changes to the GUI. The same look as the blackberry interface, and speed camera alarms! They also added some online content.

Check it out!

P.S. after much research, I can confirm that it was Mobile shell that causing Garmin Mobile to hang on start-up. Too bad they both can't work together...

Re: 6800 Garmin GPS.......

I update the first post. So ya diggin it?
I'm not really sure I like the new GUI with the little car icon.
I do like the add ons to Garmin online, it has Pics now and Google local search.
All the settings seem to be pretty much the same, still no voice prompt with street names.
Thanks for the catch

*Edit*
Works Good no problems (Mogul/Touch) and also I haven't had it change my time.

Re: 6800 Garmin GPS.......

I'm running 5.00.10wp on my Mogul 6800 sprint and it's having a hard time getting a SAT lock and I need to soft reset. Any fixes or ideas for this?

Re: 6800 Garmin GPS.......

I don't have a problem with paying for XT if it will work for me, but I don't like the idea of having to swap Storage cards to get it to work. Too easy to lose the card that is not in the phone. Is there a way to move the maps to a larger sd card? (I have a 8GB with >7GB available.)

edit: I just had a thought. Why in heck doesn't Garmin just offer its program/maps etc on a larger SD card so users can just transfer all of their data to it?
