Well, I guess Perry Mason is out of luck on this one. I just hate how ever little glitch or issue all of a sudden become a "class action" lawsuit.

funny thing though, I would get a verizon message somthing like ( the verizon custimer you are calling is not available) Thats when Im calling my wifes sprint phone. WTF?

so it seems like a few running the "unoffical" rom are not having any problems...but some are and nearly all on 2.17 rom are having the same prob. and not able to make or receive a call while on roaming

also be sure to dial the area code if it isn't stored that way in your phone when testing...

i have no idea how to start a poll...perhaps those that do or can can start a poll showing us in numbers who can and who can't roam...just an idea

Roam works fine for me using NexVision's Sprint beta...

I've had this issue Not sure what the cause but I assumed it was after loading the gps and losing my MSID information. when ever i roam I got the verizon unable to authenicate message. Found the solution on xda and posted it on here a month or so ago. Generally you have to call sprint tech support and ask them to do an HLR reload for you. My friends and I who all had the issue called them and had them do that and it fixed it for us. FYI the usual tech support didn't seem to know about it They thought it was a problem with the service in my area but my brother had the same phone no updates since he got it and roaming works fine. I called again asking for the HLR Reload they sent me to second tier tech support which was able to do this.

Been having the issue of not being able to roam ever since I upgraded to the beta rom 3.16.
But only doesn't work when im in NY my home town if I leave my home area it works fine. I have called sprint probably 4 times about a HLR reload nobody knows what I'm talking about. Is there a number I can call to get someone direct that knows what HLR Reload is? Though I'm not sure if HLR Reload is good idea for the most part with people on rom 3.16. I remember reading somewhere in the xda forums that it made things worse if your on that rom and having the roaming issue.

Has anyone tried deactivating there phone and then reactivating there phone from the sprint site. I did that once and the roaming actually started working again in my home town. But then I couldn't make data connections anymore. Had to do a Reverse Logistics Reset. That got my data connection able to function again but then lost roaming again

One of the friends that I mention who had the roaming problem was on DCD 2.0 custom rom which has the gps and rev A and it was fine for him. The only issue I read about the HLR reload was from one guy and it was because sprint didn't do it correctly and mess up his account. Assuming you got a someone that knows what's he's doing it will fix the verizon authentication problem. As for getting someone who knows what HLR Reload is try asking for second tier tech support

ive been using roaming ev data for alltell beens working a lkittle good the bad part it always discoonectes i have the deafualt rom and i went to the beta one and it stop working so i went backi have 1x for sprint here but there testing evdo still here for like alomost a yeas so still waiting

u mean a prl update right? i did that when i had the 3.16 but still didnt work so i was hellno going back to defualt lol

Background:
I was unable to roam earlier this week and called sprint...they have a open service ticket on lmy phone....so i go to the local service store on sat.....they look at it and the tech goes well my phone works....he tries...opps no his wont work....they then try 3 other mogul in the store same thing.

i am told oh well just let tech support know....so now i want to see how many can actually use the phone while forcing roam to test it. i feel this is a issue that is unknown by most and a critical one....you may never know until you are in a roaming area and need to make a life saving phone call and will be unable to.

also if sprint is aware of this issue but has not fixed it this is a class action lawsuit.

so please everyone test and report back.

Call Sprint Advanced Tech Support at 877-809-6696 and ask for an HLR Reload.

Is every little problem in your life the basis for a class action lawsuit? Since now you know about this fix, if you don't do it, Sprint will sue you. Did you load an unofficial ROM and then use up Sprint technician's time? Sprint will sue you.

Maybe tort reform should start with you?
