I am also stuck on the logo screen with "no radio".
I have tried relocking, reflashing old ROM and radio, and everything I can think of. Whenever I try to flash a radio, it gets to 9% and then the 6800 resets and XP PC reports connection failure. Tne I am back to "no radio". I will try from a card next. |

Re: Have to return bricked 6800. What will they look for?
Ok, I've done the same. I tried the 3.27 radio and DCD rom and for the life of me couldn't get the data working. I then tried to follow the instructions on relocking and now I'm in the same boat. I'm stuck in bootloader and when trying to flash the stock ROM, or any ROM, it stays at 0%.
Any ideas? HELP |

Re: Have to return bricked 6800. What will they look for?
I'm pretty sure they will look for the $7/mo you should be paying for insurance
![]() If they find it then they will probably look for a new phone for you. Of course it might help to play dumb as to why it's not working. |

i had the same problem when i upgraded. calls & text messages worked fine, but everytime i dialed #777 and entered the correct username and password, i got an error stating that my "username and password are incorrect." Bottom line: all you need to do is call vzw data tech support, and have them reset your data on your account. Just tell them you hard reset your phone, which caused the data to stop working (they're well aware of the issues that the 6800 has with hard resets). They'll probably want to walk you thru their standard procedure of regenerating the a-key, but that won't work... obviously the a-key is valid if you can make/receive calls. They'll probably also tell you that resetting the data won't work, and they may even try to send you out a replacement phone... tell them to just humor your request to reset the data, as they've got nothing lose. this is should fix your problem and expose the vzw tech's ignorance all in one fell swoop... all in all, a pretty satisfying experience. Re: Have to return bricked 6800. What will they look for?
let me tell you what i did when i thought i "bricked" my sprint mogul. first, i put it in bootload mode by hitting those three buttons.... hooked it up to the pc. next, i extracted all the files from the original sprint 2.17 rom found on htcs site into its own folder. ran the rom update utility, and WHAM! it went thru the steps and flashed me back to the regular.... try that

Re: Have to return bricked 6800. What will they look for?
First of all, You guys all ROCK for having such a quick response.
DANG! To think I was that close with the 3.27 radio, etc. I did get a new a-key and then finally told I wasn't near a Verizon tower to program the phone. The *228 gave me some mesg as if I was not on the Verizon network. Now that I've tried to revert I'm stuck. So I have the original ROM I think, but given the recent FTP wipe out I'm not sure I have the right one or possibly a damanged one. The RUU runs, I see the progress bar on the phone but it sticks at 0%. I even tried the boot from SD card option and it just hangs at loading... (maybe reading the image) Bootloader says SPL-1.06.0000 CPLD-9 (That is the original I believe) At this point and can't even unlock again due to not having an active sync connection, right? So is there a chance I can get another copy of the original Verizon ROM from somewhere else? Last edited by JDiddyC; 03-06-2008 at 12:22 PM. |
