Have to return bricked 6800. What will they look for?

I just got this xv6800 from Verizon this week and already bricked it trying to revert back from the GPS ROM. I mean its dead! Will not respond to anything. It will lockup at the Verizon splash screen after it tells you the software versions. I can get to the boot loader screen as well. So I have to go back to the store and tell them something. Any suggestions (besides "hi I'm an idiot")? Will they look at software versions?
The splash screen says:
P DCAAXAM 4350
R 3.27.00
D2.09

Boot Loader says:
TITA100
SPL-1.06.0000
CPLD-9

Will I be ok or what?

I cant say 100% but I'm sure your phone is not bricked. There is a thread that discusses stuck in bootloader, and one that discusses reverting back from the test rom to a stock rom of your choice.
P.S I would think the rom (3.16) would still be in your phone untill you flashed a diffrent one. In that case you do not want to take your PPC back to the store. Youll get nothing with a void warranty.

I'm not stuck in bootloader, I can get out and it starts to boot but hangs at the verizon splash screen. It absolutely will not respond to anything trying to load into it. Earlier today it loaded 1% of a ROM and thats where it died. If the phone would respond, I could get it going, but it just wont.

Theres a really good chance you phone is not bricked. There was a pretty good thread on how to fix the problem of getting out of the splash screen. You just need to dig around to find it. Let me know if you can't find it. Good luck

The bootloader you should be using is olipro's v.2 not v.1. You need to relock your phone to get out of the splash screen loop. I don't have time to find the file right now but I think it's in the ppcgeeks ftp.

You'll be fine.
Trust me. If you need to you can call me tonight, I'll be home around 10pm PST.
PM me for my number.

Well, I only had time to do a quick search, and I couldn't find the thread I was looking for. Not sure If you tried this yet, but try holding camera + Power then reset and then connect to you computer through active sync and try to flash a regular HTC rom. That's the best advice I can give. If that doesn't help I would just sit tight for a bit and maybe someone with more experience can help you out because i'm pretty sure there is a way to fix the phone. God luck

I have tried that streeker, but it wont respond. Says no device connected when I try to load something. Sandiegodude, I was wondering if I may now be using the wrong versions of things. Let me give that a try. I may have to call you and I TRULY appreciate that!
