Re: White Spots

It's kinda funny, my first xv6800 had one white spot in the lower left like a lot of other people right from day one when it was brand new.

I always thought it was supposed to be there until I read here that it was a problem (I wonder how many other people are the same way)

I now have a 6800 I use every day that has no spots at all (at least not yet anyway) & a second one that also hasn't showed any yet either.

Re: White Spots

found this post about the white spot.. mine is about 1 cm above the word calendar on the screen in the lower left corner..

sounds like a known issue? strange that everyone has the spot in the same place pretty much?!

Re: White Spots

I actually contacted HTC about this issue and was told that it's a defect in the LCD screen. The only they can do would be to repair it. But more than likely it'll only come back. Looks like you either have to get used to it, or save up your nickels for a Pro.

Re: White Spots

Well, I know one thing that creates the spots for certain. I uploaded some .bmp images to my phone to use as my today screen background, wich works just fine. however, if i view the thumbnails of the images on my screen, as in the grid shape when you view them in pictures and videos, each thumbnail leaves behind the white spot if its there for more than a few seconds...and it doesn't go away either. I have no idea why that would cause the spots, but it does.

Re: White Spots

Funny I never noticed the spot until today when I read this thread, thanks a lot guys.

But really my spot can barely be seen, it is about the size of a bb and vary faint.

Re: White Spots

I have the same issue as well. I had my Mogul swapped for a refurb today. My old one had the white spot, but it wasnt that bad. The refurbed one I got today has a huge one. It is very noticable, and it's noticable on dark screens as well.

I have to harass Sprint about my refurb, it has dirt inmbedded into the edges around the battery. I'm ed with it.

Re: White Spots

I think it has something to do with heat. sometimes my mogul gets really hot. I do a soft reset then its ok. Just a guess though so dont yell at me lol. I think the heat sears into the screen at the point the mogul gets the most heat.
